Aboriginal groups protest at border crossing, highways across Canada in treaty rights dispute

Aboriginals slowed highway traffic, snarled a rail line and protested at the busiest Canada-US crossing point on Wednesday as part of a "day of action" in their ongoing dispute with the Canadian government over treaty rights.

Unrest in paradise!!

I lived in close proximity to a First Nations reservation, and volunteered at a school on the res. None of the adults even had jobs. Their housing was provided by the government, and they received fat stipends that they used for their booze and entertainment. They don't pay any taxes. The children suffered enormous neglect and abuse, and the government did nothing about it. It was quite possibly the most dysfunctional society I've ever observed.

So, to be frank, I don't have much sympathy for these whiners. Start paying taxes and contributing to society, and stop beating your kids or sending them to school in rags...then we can talk.
