UNDERSTANDING THE "LIBERAL"/"PROGRESSIVE" DEMOCRAT MENTALITY IN 4 EASY STEPS !

I read what he had to say-but I cannot even recall the details right now - because I was so blown away by a "signature" comment that he had placed at the bottom of his post, which said this....

When I first read the remarks above, I felt stunned - like I'd just been slapped across the face; then I thought: "My God, there is someone on this this benighted forum who actually understands the mentality of the left in the modern era of American politics. There is one person here - (beside my good self
) who truly understands how the diseased mentality of the ("liberal"/"progressive") left has functioned in the the United States over the past 25 odd years - one person who genuinely knows what makes a the modern leftist "tick" at the most inner-most, fundamental levels of his/her being."
Your point that the radical, progressive left believes it can actually alter human nature if it can manages to acquire enough power to transform the key social institutions in America (the West more generally) is an example of their pathological delusion. In my view, there are FOURcardinal characteristics of the the left liberal/progressive mentality. Here they are...
(1) The first - and probably most fundamental feature of the leftist-progressive mentality - is the one that HAWKEYE highlighted (above). This has been the primary divide between the liberal/progressive left and conservatives/ Republicans) throughout all of the last century and throughout the 21st century to date (the current radical, revolutionary left/progressive Biden Junta is a perfect example of what I'm talking about); in fact, this divide between the liberal-progressive left and conservatives/Republicans can be traced all the way back back to the 18th century. It is documented in two of the the most most important and influential works of the Swiss philosopher, Jean Jacques Rousseau, who was based in France during the Age of Enlightenment. These works are: "Discourse on Inequality" ( pub: 1755) and "The Social Contract" (pub: 1762).
People on the hard, progressive-left - for example, Marxist-Leninist communists like Barack Obama and his political henchmen, or the cadre of radical "progressive" Democrats who currently control the Biden administration are all ROUSSEAUIANS. Rousseau famously (infamously!) wrote at the beginning of his text, "The Social Contract" "Man is born free but is everywhere in chains." The message here is that society did it, that the development of Western society and civilization degraded man's original human nature. Before men lived in cities and big towns, he was in what Rousseau and other philosophers of his era referred to as the "State of Nature". This "State of Nature" was something like an agrarian "paradise" where man ambled about peacefully plucking fruit from trees to eat and so on. There was non conflict between individuals - everyone got along with each other harmoniously and man's human nature was innately - instinctively compassionate/ empathetic/merciful, and benign. The other prominent feature of human nature in this hypothetical, original condition was the instinct for self- survival. Human nature was, says Rousseau: "free; equal and (morally) good." This , in turn, generated conflict inevitably gave rise to all the sins and vices of the "rat race" in societies cities (cf :New York City ;Chicago; San Francisco Shitty; LA; Baltimore; Portland; Detroit, and the like - all perfused with: high rates of poverty, misery, suffering, oppression, corruption, promiscuous sex of evey kind imaginable,/unimaginable (!) prostitution, pornography everywhere - "from ass-hole to breakfast table", Drag Queen "story hour" for elementary school children, drugs, hucksters/grifters/scam-artists, violent/property crime, including murder).

If you believe that social institutions are the source of man's problems, and that if - according to Rousseau, the Great Grandaddy of progressive political philosophy- you change social institutions you can change the essence of people - THAT IS, CHANGE HUMAN NATURE ( in fact, Rousseau argues that human nature is PERFECTIBLE, so given enough of the right kind of progressive social reform or transformation (as Obama put it), we can achieve UTOPIA right here on Earth ! Now, do you think that they would have become firm friends with Saroth Sar (Pol Pot) in Paris in the early 1950s if they thought he was a moron? I don't. I don't think that Pol Pot was as intelligent as most of them, but the point is that Pol Pot was not a dribbling idiot (like Biden) - he was pretty sharp intellectually. Anyway, you know what happened after Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge seized control of Cambodia between 1975 and 1975... he tortured, starved and murdered about 2 million of his fellow Cambodians; in terms of brutality it was the most appalling genocide in human history. What he and the Khmer Rouge did was far worse than what Hitler, Stalin or Mao Zedong did from the point of view of a statistical kill - rate, and the way that many Cambodians were treated, tortured and murdered is so horrific that I would advise you never to read anything about it.
