Unbelievable, Nevada.

Rationalist

Hail Voltaire
Even taking into account the fact that Angle was a weak, fringe candidate, I am utterly flabbergasted that Nevadans re-elected this dunce.

That said, I am not disappointed that the GOP failed to take control of the Senate. Incidentally, I am also very pleased that the GOP did take control of the House. I'm opposed to single party rule. Now provided Obama is willing to compromise and move to the center, we have the perfect opportunity to recreate the prosperity of the Clinton years.

And if Obama plays his cards right, he will have no trouble getting re-elected in 2012. We'll just have to wait and see what he does next...

My personal prediction is the Obama will NOT try to work with the Republicans. More likely he will be arrogant and defiant. If he does take this course, he will lose in 2012, and Republicans (and hidden Libertarians) will make greater gains. If I'm wrong about his defiance, he will likely win the presidency, but congress will likely remain split in 2012.

Unbelievable because they didn't elect a racist bitch dunce over an idiot like Reid?

Face it...the tea party provided some unnecessary help in the house but they absolutely cost the (R) the senate.

Reid won because of who he was opposing. Angle was a candidate the inspired a lot of enthusiasm among the base and Reid was a candidate that put people to sleep. It was basically the perfect storm for her to be overrepresented in the polls.

A similar thing happened in Colorado with Tancredo.

The Democrats not bending over backwards to please their Republican overlords? In what reality are you living?

They bend, but only so much. I think it's going to be total gridlock, and without a senate majority, the Republicans will claim that such a gridlock is because of the Democrats and Obama. Coupled with the Libertarian element that is growing within the Republican party, which will be publicized at key moments, and they will effectively present themselves both as moderate and hardcore at the same time.

The Republican party, despite a HUGE difference between it's core groups, has much more unity than the democrats. In my personal opinion, they will utilize this effectively for the next series of elections.

Does anyone but me think it's odd... Angle was fairly consistently up by 3%... 4%... 7% in the polls... we hear eyewitness firsthand reports of the electronic ballots having Reid's name already filled in... SEIU in charge of that... Harrah's Casinos strong-arming employees to vote for Reid... and he up and wins by several points? Something just smells rotten in Denmark to me. I think the cheatin' bastard outright stole this election!

Reid's victory came as a shock to me for the same reason. In 9 out of 10 polls, Angle was ahead by at least 2 points. But on the other hand, voters weren't exactly ethusiastic about either candidate; both suffered a high disapproval rating. Furthermore, neither candidate exceeded 49% in any poll. So while I think there are irregularities worthy of looking at, I don't think it could explain Reid's significant margin of victory. Reid won fair and square.
