UN Approves Request for an ICJ Advisory Opinion on Israel's West Bank Conduct

Although the approval of the proposal initiated by the Palestinian Authority was expected, in recent days Israel tried to expand the list of countries that would oppose it. Israel's UN ambassador Gilad Erdan attacked the initiative even before the vote, stating that it is 'a disgrace to any country that supports it'

The world at large, however, will continue to remind any crime-supporting US administration of its dereliction of duty with regard to Israel's crimes against humanity. Israel Retaliates With Sanctions After Palestinians Request Opinion From ICJ on Occupation

Israel's security cabinet approved on Friday a series of sanctions against the Palestinian Authority, in response to its request for an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice in The Hague on Israel's occupation of the West Bank.

In addition to other things, it was decided to freeze a Palestinian construction plans in Area C in the West Bank, offset funds from the PA and "take action against organizations that promote hostile activity, including political-legal activity against Israel under the guise of humanitarian activity."

The newly appointed cabinet, which met on Thursday for the first time, discussed response measures to the PA's request.

The implementation of broad measures against the Palestinian Authority and the Palestinian public was suggested, along with an emphasis on punitive actions against senior officials who participated in the decision-making,
