We have very little visibility on what is going on in Ukraine, the so called journalists do nothing but parrott Ukrainian propaganda, and so to do Western intel services.

We do however know that the Ukrainians lie constantly, that they sell narratives not the truth.
 
For God's sake, don't anyone tell moonie. If he brings it up, tell him they were Jewish drones.

Past wars, back when we were better, had journalists who did their best to tell us what was going on, often doing it very well.

Also, when there are no journalists such as now, the actors are free to lie their asses off.

This is bad for us.

Journalists can, and do go anywhere they want in Ukrainian controlled territory. Past wars were not like that. Journalists were not free to move around the Iran-Iraq War, or the Soviet War in Afghanistan.

Plenty of journalists there, it's places like Iran where hard news is difficult to obtain.

Obviously, Putin is tightly controlling access to the parts of Ukraine he still occupies. There is still widespread citizen reporting from Putin occupied Ukraine, but that is of questionable accuracy. Ukraine allows people to go anywhere, but close to the frontlines is extremely dangerous. Other than that, things are very easy.

What strikes me is how well Ukraine is doing. If they were as corrupt as Russia claimed, they could not do this well.

The other thing that strikes me is how corrupt Russia turned out to be. I knew they were corrupt, but not tin helmet corrupt. A tin military helmet will roughly look like a normal helmet, but will be easily damaged with a kick, and bullets will go right through it. The Russian Army has been stealing funds used to buy real helmets, and instead buying tin helmets. This is a level of corrupt I would not expect from anyone.
