Typical democrat thinking NEW TAXES will solve it.

In my view that is just doing away with an exemption since the non exempt businesses have been paying the tax all along.

Ending a free ride/loophole that was no doubt lobbyist paid for.

How about the bottle deposit thing? How does that generate new revenue for the govt? and is it fair to apply it to other beverage containers if you are going to have it on some? Should the contents of those containers determine if a deposit is required?

Sorry, I can't help with the bottle thing. I'm not familiar with it and just don't know.

As for the elimination of an exemption, an exemption is a reduction of income taxes. For example, if the goverment exempted the first $10,000 of a person's income from taxation and the tax rate was 15% the person's tax bill would be $1500 dollars lower than if the exemption did not exist. Eliminate the exemption and that person's tax bill jumps $1,500.

As for non-exempt businesses paying the taxes anyway, I didn't see anything that said that the corporate tax rate was going to go down, so those business will still be paying the taxes they were before. Thus the elimination of the exemption is nothing more than an increase of taxes.
