depends on what the reason for flying is.. IF for campaigning or for personal shit should not be on tax payer dime.
In terms of work related flying there should be a budget for each person based on status. They pay for the bill then get reimbursed by the govt or something like that. First class or charter flights should be sufficient for pelosi.

No, Damo, that's not true. The speaker has had a plane for quite a while. Pelosi wanted an upgraded plane with expanded range so that she could fly to Washington without refueling in case of an emergency. But there was already a plane for the speaker.
The speaker is third in line for succession, but literally probably second in line to the president in terms of actual power. She needs a secure mode of transport more than the VP does.
Ah... Okay. I think the VP could survive just fine taking the train and the Speaker would be fine refueling. What she wanted to do was avoid actually having to talk to citizens.

In normal circumstances, sure. If a war breaks out or something, the speaker needs to get to Washington as fast as possible if shes in recess.

In those situations she could easily be allowed to charter a trip on more available transport.

If the speaker is going to have a plane it should get them where they need to go.
Again. Take away the plane, she can get where she needs to go using regular transport, if the stuff is hitting the fan she/he can then charter a more direct transport. They can rely on the same effective security we all must rely on when flying.
(BTW - I'm just having fun with this. I don't particularly care if she has Air Force 3 at her disposal.)

The mystery man who was tossed off an airplane for allegedly attacking Mitt Romney has finally been revealed — it was one of the guys from LMFAO … and he claims Romney is the one who got physical first!
It all went down shortly after the two parties boarded a flight from Vancouver to Los Angeles on Monday.
According to a video confessional from LMFAO’s Sky Blu, it all started when he leaned his seat back while the plane was still on the tarmac … and Romney, who was sitting behind him, started yelling at him to put his seat back up.
Sky Blu claims Romney then reached forward and grabbed his shoulder … so he slapped the Presidential wannabeen’s hand away. Shortly after, authorities boarded the plane and escorted Sky Blu off the flight … and the other member of LMFAO got it all on tape.
On Tuesday, Romney’s spokesperson said Sky Blu became "physically violent" when asked to put his seat up … but the spokesperson never mentioned whether or not Romney puts his hands on him.
Sky (a Democrat) says it was an "unfortunate situation" and he's sure Mitt (a Republican) is a "nice guy" ... but not someone he'd vote for.
