Tupac In Concert

So, 15 years after his death, Tupac takes the stage and gives a live performance.

I think this is so creepy, but obviously it's the next big thing. I hear that the iphone 5 will have a hologram. Maybe I will just kill myself and live on as a hologram who does nothing but bike ride, get facials, and go to happy hour. I wonder what happens if your hologram is evil? Does it get sent to hologram hell? Like, if mine is bad, will I be forced into never-ending posts back and forth with Superfreak's hologram? Very disturbing.

Well, that was uncomfortable. Despite supposedly having been dead for over 15 years, Tupac Shakur joined Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg on the main stage at Coachella late Sunday night.

An all-too-realistic hologram of the late rapper rolled through "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and other hits in the California desert. Even more unnervingly, he started his mini-set by shouting out "Coachella" by name.

darla are you sure you're not a stoner?

No, I am a total stoner. I can only do it far less than I'd like to though. I love getting stoned and listening to music, or going out drinking afterwards. But I have to be 100% on during the week, so I only do it on weekends, and even then, not all the time. I do it to unwind over the weekend a lot, but usually just in the evenings. Pot has a lot of side benefits, some of which we can't get into here on the board. But it's all good.

No matter how many times you shoot them, they just won't die unless you put one in the head.

Eerie is right!

What's so eerie?

They take old footage of Tupac, and digitally overlay a new mouth with the correct words and voila...

And it's not live by any means...they pre record everything...it's all a matter of timing and everyone knowing their cues.

A lot of people posted about this on Facebook. A girl wrote today, "I've been holding my tongue on this one...That Tupac Hologram while amazing is scary...I wonder what else we see on TV and on the computer is digitally created...Just my two cents..."

Is this the first time this has been used and will we know for sure it is hologram when we see it in the future?

I don't know. But if that's true about the iphone five, then I guess we are all going to have holograms soon? And who knows what that will mean. Like, if you see your gf out with another guy, and I say, hey no way, that wasn't me, that was my hologram, how can it be proved? WHo knows where this technology is leading as it advances. It makes me feel very old because I'm not really ready for it. I am down with the ipad, but I think that may be my technological limit.

So the girl who posted that is a singer/performer. She got one response and here it is. And you ask a great question about how can it be proven?

A lot, somethings that people don't want to admit. There is so much Visual FX on TV it's not even funny, and to actually point them out is disturbing. Most people won't connect the dots like you have Tamika. They just think wow that's cool. I had two big issues when I saw, #1. Proved that holograms have been used from some time now. Unless we really think the first time it would be rolled out would be to show case Tupac...ugh. #2. Living artist have no chance in the future. Why trick, lie and decieve artist when you can just create one that isn't real...i.e. japan's Hatsune Muki. Stay Bless. And thank you for your music.

That's interesting. She's probably right too about it not being the first time.
