TSA funded

Do the Democrats know that ICE Agents and CBP were being paid because they were already funded, or are we just going to skip past information?

The current funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is tied to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), which provided significant budget authority that remains available regardless of annual budget approvals. Therefore, their funding does not have a specific expiration date as it is not subject to the usual appropriations process.

ICE’s current operational budget is effectively secured for multiple years because Congress in mid‑2025 provided a large, multi‑year cash infusion that experts and watchdogs say funds the agency through 2029; that windfall sits alongside ongoing fights in Congress over annual DHS appropriations, where recent Senate action has deliberately excluded new money for ICE.

Democrats only appear to know what their thought leaders tell them. Hive mind.

However, you can bet that when current ICE and CBP funding expires, Democrats will not be in favor.

Despite the multi‑year funding cushion, the annual appropriations process remains a lever: Democrats in Congress have been withholding or trying to strip ICE enforcement funding from recent DHS packages, and the Senate recently passed a measure funding most of DHS while explicitly excluding ICE and Border Patrol funding — a move that shows political appetite to block additional enforcement dollars even if the agency has unobligated funds from earlier legislation
