You just gave Trump supporters a compliment, seeing that Washington still ranks #1 all-time.
After the Revolutionary War, a cabal of veteran officers plotted a military coup and wanted to install Washington as dictator or king. He famously addressed them with a speech that put an end to such ideas.
So why hasn't Trump done so yet?

trump was slowly and steadily taking over all branches of the government. He was appointing judges with super slants and religious beliefs that the reds found acceptable. They were followed through schools and careers by the Federalist Society to take over justice. Many were rejected by the Bar Assoc. because they were not qualified. McConnell just ignored them. He followed his orders. They were not given by Daffy, he does not know enough to be involved in that plot.
Trump Jr said the first thing on a 2nd term agenda was ripping the FBI apart and making it subservient to Trump.
Trump already broomed all the people from the admin that had their own opinions and values. The smart and capable ones were removed and replaced with sycophants. The quality of people in the government dropped badly.
People like Barr who did everything Trump wanted and tried to give him power over the justice dept, were not allowed to make a mistake. Barr's was telling Trump he lost the election. Trump wanted someone who would not only believe the big lie, but act on it.

I think you are confused. Trump himself would like nothing better than to be a leader in the mold of the authoritarians for whom he makes no effort to conceal his admiration. Confusion such as yours lets Trump supporters continue to buy into The Stolen Election dream after every audit, every lawsuit, failed them, and worse than failed them now is rebounding in their faces with damages for libel and abuse of legal process; and, of course, even though the official election results played out just as the pre-election polls said they would. This, friend, is confusion big time.

The right sees the future. They'll have to move a lot more left to win elections. Better to just do away w/ elections, at this point.
