Michigan Trump staffer convicted on ten counts of felony election fraud

A Grand Haven, Michigan man who worked on the Michigan Trump campaign was found guilty on ten counts of election fraud Wednesday for forging signatures on petition forms in 2012.

Grand Haven Tribune reports that self-described “political junkie” Brandon Hall faces up to five years in prison for signing other people’s names in support of 2012 judicial candidate Chris Houtaling.

The 27-year-old did not take the stand his defense, but Hall’s friend Zachary Savage told the court he and Hall forged the signatures as Houtaling drove them to drop off the petitions by the filing deadline. Savage and Houtaling have not been charged for the incident.

Hall’s case made it to the Michigan Supreme Court in June when the defense argued he should be charged with misdemeanors instead of felonies. The high court overturned the Michigan Court of Appeals, maintaining Hall’s felony charges.

In 2012, Hall was convicted for stealing from a school fundraiser where he serves on the Grand Haven school board. He ran earlier this year for the state House 89th District.

In a statement, Progress Michigan said Hall’s conviction is proof that former Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s recount effort should continue in Michigan.

“Donald Trump has made claim after claim calling the integrity of the election into question, but his Michigan campaign had no problem hiring a staff member facing election law charges,” executive director Lonnie Scott said. “The fact that the Trump campaign and the Michigan Republican Party embraced Brandon Hall is just one more reason to recount and audit the vote in Michigan.”

There IS voter fraud...

The case began when the Florida’s Division of Elections notified FDLE ad FBI that “an extraordinarily disproportionate amount of absentee votes,” had been cast in the District 1 school board race. The eight suspects were arrested on November 1, 2011.

Before I post the names of those arrested for voting more than once in an election, they are ALL registered Democrats:

Tina Johnson was arrested on 10 counts of fraud in connection with casting a vote, and two counts of absentee ballots and voting violations.

Johnson Jr. was charged with 11 counts of fraud in connection with casting votes, as well as corruptly influencing voting, and perjury by false written declaration.

Williams was charged with 17 counts of neglect of duty and corrupt practices for allowing the distribution of these absentee ballots.

The following Madison residents were each charged with one count of proving a false report to law enforcement as well addition charges as listed:

7 Democrats Arrested in New York for actual Voter Fraud via Absentee Ballots
Democrats arrested, charged and 4 plead guilty to actual voter fraud in New York via absentee ballots!
Democrat Anthony DeFiglio, right, pled guilty to falsifying business records for his role in a ballot fraud case in Rensselaer County Court on Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011 in Troy, N.Y. His lawyer John Turi is at left.

4 Plead Guilty while the other 3 opt for a trial. The group forged signatures on applications for absentee ballots and on the ballots themselves in a 2009 primary of the Working Families Party, which was affiliated with now-defunct community group ACORN.

Voters whose signatures were forged expressed outrage to Fox. “I feel extremely violated,” said Brian Suozzo.

In November 2009, Democratic operative Anthony DeFiglio told New York State police investigators that faking absentee ballots was a commonplace and accepted practice in political circles, all intended to swing an election.
Democrat Clement Campana, President of the Troy City Council, right, is arraigned for his role in a ballot fraud case in Rensselaer County Court while sitting with his lawyer E. Stewart Jones, Jr., left, on Tuesday Dec. 20, 2011 in Troy, N.Y.. (Philip Kamrass / Times Union )

**It should be noted that the story below has still yet, as of November 25, 2011 to be aired on NBC, MSNBC or CNN……**

To hear NBC, MSNBC and CNN put it, voter fraud is “basically unfounded” in today’s society. That those who scream voter fraud, those said people are merely looking to “discredit” Democrats, or they go so far as to call them “racists”. Remember, the whole purpose of the MEDIA is to keep the citizens informed and the politicians “honest”. Lying about the OBVIOUS is neither keeping the citizens informed nor keeping the politicians “honest”. Likewise, calling those racists whom provide factual evidence that voter fraud occurs a lot more than the media leads on, only proves why NBC, MSNBC and CNN’s ratings are in the tank.

Irony, by its very definition is that of the media “keeping politicians honest” by “reporting the truth” when said media calls those who do report the truth as being racists and liars.
Update: November 2011
12 Democrats have been Charged in Georgia for Absentee Ballot Voter Fraud

Case in point: November 23, 2011 – 12 people have been charged in Georgia for voter fraud as they used absentee ballots to skew an in election in Georgia. The 12 people charged are ALL with the Democrat Party. The defendants include some workers in the voter registrar’s office and some school board members. They are Angela Bryant, April Proctor, Brenda Monds, Debra Denard, Lula Smart, Kechia Harrison, Robert Denard, Sandra Cody, Elizabeth Thomas, Linda Troutman, Latashia Head, and Nancy Denard.

The charges followed a bitter November 2010 school board election in Brooks County in which the final tally was changed by an unusually large wave of absentee ballots.

During the election, 1,060 absentee votes were cast out of the 1,403 ballots mailed out to people who requested them, according to a July 2010 report by WCTV.

That’s far higher than nearby Thomas County, which had 119 absentee votes cast out of 202 requests, and Lowndes County, which had 169 absentee votes cast out of 439 requests, said WCTV’s report.

We also need to look at the other actual voter fraud that yielded arrests, charges and convictions. Needless to say, ALL thus far have been via DEMOCRAT voters who voted MULTIPLE TIMES for Obama whereby even DNA evidence was acquired and used to convict on voter fraud so as to NOT allow the media to state that these charges and convictions were somehow “racist”.
NAACP Executive Sentence to 10 Years in Prison for Voting for Obama 10 Times in 2008

While NAACP President Benjamin Jealous lashed out at new state laws requiring photo ID for voting, an NAACP executive sits in prison, sentenced for carrying out a massive voter fraud scheme.

In April 2011, a Tunica County, Miss., jury convicted NAACP official Lessadolla Sowers on 10 counts of fraudulently casting absentee ballots.

Sowers received a five-year prison term for each of the 10 counts…..

“This crime cuts against the fabric of our free society,” Judge Webster said.

Sowers was found guilty of voting in the names of Carrie Collins, Walter Howard, Sheena Shelton, Alberta Pickett, Draper Cotton and Eddie Davis.

She was also convicted of voting in the names of four dead persons: James L. Young, Dora Price, Dorothy Harris, and David Ross.

In the trial, forensic scientist Bo Scales testified that Sowers’s DNA was found on the inner seals of five envelopes containing absentee ballots.
4 Wake County, North Carolina Democrats have Admitted to Voting for Obama TWICE Each in 2008

FOUR Wake County, North Carolina, Democrats have admitted to voter fraud charges, according to local news reports.

Kierra Fontae Leache, Shelia Romona Hodges and Brandon Earl Mclean each admitted to casting two ballots in recent elections. Local reports indicate all three voted for President Barack Obama twice in 2008.

According to ABC News Channel 11 in Raleigh-Durham, authorities have placed the three on $10,000 bonds.

Brandon Hall
Jury finds Brandon Hall guilty of election fraud

It took less than an hour Wednesday for a jury to convict political activist Brandon Michael Hall on 10 counts of election law fraud, following a day-and-a-half trial in Ottawa County Circuit Court.

The 27-year-old Grand Haven resident, author of the West Michigan Politics blog and self-admitted political junkie, said the verdict wasn’t a surprise. Hall said that he had resigned himself to that possibility after the Michigan Supreme Court, during this past summer, determined his case should be tried as a felony.
Hall showed only a little emotion and quickly composed himself as the jury foreman announced the verdict.
Hall was charged with election law fraud after forging signatures on petitions in a 2012 effort to get judicial candidate Chris Houghtaling on the ballot.
Local courts initially agreed with Hall’s position that the case should be tried as a misdemeanor, based on a statement printed on the petitions, but the Attorney General’s Office appealed the case through the court system until the Michigan Supreme Court made the decision. That’s why it took so long for the case to come to trial.

Hall was formally charged with the felonies again in August. The case was eventually set for this week’s trial after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
At one point, during the years of appeals, both the defense and the Attorney General’s Office agreed to a list of stipulated facts. Those facts included the following: that Hall was helping Houghtaling get signatures on petitions for a May 1, 2012, filing deadline; that Hall and a friend, Zachary Savage, filled in the petitions using different colored pens and different hands; that Houghtaling drove Hall and Savage to Lansing while they continued to fill in the signatures; and that Hall copied numerous names from a 2010 petition.
During the trial, Assistant Attorney General Greg Townsend emphasized those facts and questioned elections official Carol Pierce about the process her office went through in qualifying the petitions. Pierce noted the similarities in the signatures and said they were enough to cause officials to take a closer look at all of the petitions.
In testimony on Wednesday, Savage said that Hall came to his apartment the day before the signatures were due and asked for help filling out the forms. Savage agreed, noting that he was supposed to be paid for his help, and the two worked most of the night in what Townsend called “round tabling” to fill out the forms.
They continued the next day, eventually transferring their work to the back seat of Houghtaling’s car while he drove to Lansing, Savage testified.
“At one point, Mr. Houghtaling asked Brandon Hall to reach into a suitcase … to see if those would help,” Savage said.
These were the 2010 petition forms used to help fill out the 2012 forms, he added.
Savage was given immunity from charges by the Attorney General’s Office in exchange for his testimony in this case.
Hall also testified — via the police video shown in court on Tuesday — about writing signatures on the petitions while driving to Lansing. During that interview, Hall said that Houghtaling had indicated that he didn’t care how the young men obtained the signatures as long as they got enough prior to the deadline. Hall declined to talk about his activities the night before.
Hall did not take the stand during the trial.
His attorney, Anna White, said she did not call Houghtaling because “we didn’t feel his testimony contributed anything to our case.”
Both White and Townsend declined to comment after the trial. Townsend also would not comment on whether or not Houghtaling would be charged in the incident.
Michigan State Police Lt. Greg Poulson testified that nobody else was charged as a result of his investigation.
Judge Ed Post said the statute of limitations has not run out on the case.
Hall and Houghtaling crossed paths when they were both members of the Grand Haven school board. Hall resigned from the board in 2010 after being convicted of stealing from a school fundraiser — a misdemeanor.
For a 2013 story, Houghtaling was asked why he chose to work with Hall again. Houghtaling, an attorney, said that Hall approached him and offered to help with his judicial campaign as a chance to redeem himself and show that he could be trusted. Houghtaling said that was a mistake.
In 2014, Hall again ran for a seat on the Grand Haven school board as a write-in candidate, but was not elected.
Hall has stayed busy the past few years working on various political campaigns across the country and most recently ran for the state House 89th District seat, but he was defeated in the Republican primary in August. He also worked on President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign.
“Donald Trump has made claim after claim calling the integrity of the election into question, but his Michigan campaign had no problem hiring a staff member facing election law charges,” Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan, said following Hall’s conviction on Wednesday. “The fact that the Trump campaign and the Michigan Republican Party embraced Brandon Hall is just one more reason to recount and audit the vote in Michigan.”
Hall’s sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27. He faces up to five years in prison.

If your trying to make a case that one side "will go to heaven" because they are pure and good and the other side is "evil". Your screwed and wasting your time.
It will be a endless cut and paste worthless waste of time.
If your going to try and frame politics with morals everybody will go to hell.
To say one side is all racist and the other side is evil is an equal example of wasting ones time.
At some point the election is over and we all focus on issues.
