So there's an interesting discussion happening on Twitter (which is a much more interesting and diverse (shiv shot) place than here, TBH) about Trump's VP pick.

Who in the Republican party will be willing to trash their political future and accept that slot? I think the pool will have to be among those with no political future to begin with.

Sarah Palin. Maybe Chris Christie. I don't know who else. Gingrich?

Did Gingrich state he would not want the VP slot.

No politicial future, hmmmm, that might be all members of the GOP supporting Trump! ;)
 
I think Sarah would jump at the chance to be back in the spotlight, but trump hates losers.

Gingrich I thought was a real option until I heard Trump attack him yesterday over the Judge issue.

Christie is just about all that's left, but I doubt based on his current numbers he could even pull in New Jersey.

Some say Jan Brewer, but I don't think she is pretty enough for Trump to have to look at as often as he would have to deal with her.

No I think party loyalty and self-interest play a huge role. If Trump goes down in flames he will take the Senate, and it's remotely possible, the House with him. Committee positions, power, all of these things are at stake here.

I think you're probably right about Brewer...I can just hear him sneering the way he did over Fiorina's face. We are not dealing with an adult mind here.
 
Christie looks like a hostage standing next to Trump, just for the optics alone it would be a poor choice.

It's very sad. Shortly after one of those hostage appearances someone got a shot of him pouring a bag of M & M's into a bigger bag of M & M's at a ball game. He's a broken man.
 
I would think if he had any sense to pick someone out of politics..
He's not going to leverage any Republicans with an establishment Republican.

His thing is populist nationalism -so look for someone ERUDITE ( as a counter) and successful in business -trade.

Or he could pick a Mexican

If there is a Mexican who would consider doing it, but Trump needs a political insider with foreign policy experience to counter the attack that he is unstable.
