Trump tells Hannity "it's up to Zelenskyy to get it done" after Putin meeting

In an interview taped in Alaska after his meeting with Putin, Mr. Trump told Fox News' Sean Hannity it's "up to Zelenskyy" now to get a deal done.

"Now it's really up to President Zelenskyy to get it done," the president told Hannity. "And I would also say the European nations, they have to get involved a little bit. But it's up to President Zelenskyy. I think we are, and if they like, I'll be at that next meeting."

Zelenskyy has supported a ceasefire agreement in order to meet and discuss a peace agreement, but Moscow has shot down the idea.

Mr. Trump said he and Putin agreed on most things, but there are still one or two issues on which they disagree. Asked if he will say what those disagreements are, Mr. Trump responded, "No, I'd rather not."

Mr. Trump said he believes Putin wants the war to end, despite evidence to the contrary.

He's lying.....Ukraine is an Imperial Empire outpost run from Washington and London mostly..... and Z is an actor playing a role.

I certainly agree that Ukraine, which is currently lead by Zelenskyy, would need to be part of any lasting peace treaty, at least so long as he leads Ukraine. I disagree with the authors of your article that there is evidence that Putin doesn't want to end the war. The key, as always, is that he wants to end it on terms that he believes will be favourable to Russia's interests.

I can certainly agree that Zelensky has been an actor in the past, but I think it's clear at this that he doesn't always act in a way that Trump favours. Not that always doing things Trump's way is a good thing, just saying that he clearly has a mind of his own.

The Russians want the end of abuse of Russians and the end to Imperial Empire aggression against it.

The winner of wars dictate terms.

As always you fail to understand who runs things.

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský lambasted Russian leader Vladimir Putin after the Alaska summit with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday, accusing him of talking garbage about the war with Ukraine.

“From Putin, we heard the same propagandistic nonsense about the ‘roots of the conflict’ that his state television promotes,” Lipavský wrote on X following statements from the two presidents. “The problem is Russian imperialism, not Ukraine’s desire to live freely.”

Who do you think runs things? For that matter, what things are you referring to?

And the terms Putin wants and has stated many times is for Ukraine to cease to exist as a State and be entire subsumed by Russia.

I mean, Putin has made that clear many times and there is zero reason any peace deal that grants him more land will be anything more than a pause for him to consolidate the land and peoples and rebuild his military to go back again and take another chunk.

Do you agree or would you tell Putin he is wrong and you know better?

AHAHAAHAHA

The poor "Abused" Russians. Forced into a war to stop Ukrainian aggression against them.

The unwilling participant victim in all this.
:rofl2:

Learn, or Leave.
Here is the cliff notes as to why Putin felt he had to invade.

You could see in the data, that Ukraine kicking out Putin's puppet gov't and moving towards reforms was working on many levels. GDP was on a steady rise and more importantly foreign investment was massively ramping up into projects in Odessa and Kiev. Odessa was looking to become amongst the world leading tourist destinations and new condo builds, spurred by international investors were taking off.

Meanwhile Russia's GDP was massively underperforming.

Too many Russian citizens had friends, family or vacationed in Ukraine and thus if Ukraine continued its trend and was shown the signs of success and wealth, it would inevitable lead Russian citizens to ask 'what was different'... 'why was Ukraine enjoying so much success... why are the Ukraine people getting only richer, while we Russians are stuck in this mud'.

There would only be one clear answer to that question and that is 'Ukraine removed Putins puppet gov't and put in place reforms'.

THAT is what Putin had to end, at any cost. The future success of Ukraine was always going to shine a giant spotlight on him and his failure to generate success in Russia. This, more than any other was the biggest threat to Putin.
