Trump Said to Demand Justice Dept. Pay Him $230 Million for Past Cases

How a dictator talks: "“I have a lawsuit that was doing very well, and when I became president, I said, I’m sort of suing myself,” Mr. Trump said, adding: “It sort of looks bad, I’m suing myself, right? So I don’t know. But that was a lawsuit that was very strong, very powerful.”

"Said".

"According to people familiar with the matter".

Good, I hope he sues to get it, personally.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the federal government owes him “a lot of money” for prior Justice Department investigations into his actions and insisted he would have the ultimate say on any payout because any decision will “have to go across my desk.”

Amazing how fucking stupid you are.

Amazing how fucking stupid you are.

The part you either didn't read, or did and hoped I didn't know about it:

Trump said Tuesday he did not know the dollar figures involved and suggested he had not spoken to officials about it. But, he added, “All I know is that, they would owe me a lot of money.”

Though the Justice Department has a protocol for reviewing such claims, Trump asserted, “It’s interesting, ‘cause I’m the one that makes the decision, right?”

“That decision would have to go across my desk,” he added.

He said he could donate any taxpayer money or use it to help pay for a ballroom he’s building at the White House.

Again with this BS?

President Trump filed administrative claims (via Standard Form 95) seeking compensation from the Department of Justice (DOJ) for legal costs and damages tied to past federal investigations, including the fraudulent "Russian collusion" probe and the Mar-a-Lago raid.

These forms were submitted before his inauguration but are now under consideration by DOJ officials, because they have to review them.

The claims cover alleged malicious prosecution and privacy violations.

Trump recently commented informally to reporters in the Oval Office, saying the government "owes me a lot of money" but that he'd donate any proceeds to charity. He joked "I'm sort of suing myself" (he' hasn't filed a lawsuit) Trump's remarks were offhand responses to press questions, not a formal statement or executive action.
