Trump refused to put his hand on the Bible during inauguration ceremony....

Every trumper is a N4T.
Yet the idiot Bible thumper fundies who call themselves "Christians" as they yammer and babble about Jebus, couldn't care less and continue to worship the orange turd on a level they never afforded to Christ himself.

Just another indication of what a bunch of clueless, bass-ackwards mental cases trump attracts.

And what was up with that 1930's horror movie undertaker get up Malaria was sporting?

God better step in and take this freak out of the game or he's going drag us all down that golden toilet of his.

So what?

Kennedy was a devout Catholic and they probably used a non-Catholic Bible, as JFK was the first ever Catholic President.

  • John Quincy Adams (1825) reportedly swore the oath on a law book instead of a Bible, though accounts vary.
  • Franklin Pierce (1853) chose to affirm his oath rather than swear, and thus did not use a Bible. He affirmed due to his personal beliefs; some sources suggest he did this to avoid the traditional swearing on the Bible to respect his conscience.
  • Theodore Roosevelt (1901) did not use a Bible when he was sworn in after the assassination of President William McKinley. The ceremony took place in Buffalo, New York, and was done hastily, without the traditional trappings including a Bible.
  • Lyndon B. Johnson (1963) was sworn in aboard Air Force One after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. There was no Bible available for the ceremony, so he was sworn in without one.

These are the most commonly cited examples of presidents not using a Bible during their oath of office.

Note that the Constitution does not require the use of a Bible for the presidential oath, only that the president swear or affirm to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Trump did not "refuse to put his hand on the Bible."

Instead, his wife Melania Trump held two Bibles next to him while he raised his right hand for the oath, leaving his left hand by his side.

Ahhhhhhh, Nomad,.... ....Trump did the right thing. Taking an oath of any kind or swearing to something is basically an abomination according to the Bible. I would think ESPECIALLY so if you placed your hand on the very book that clearly says it is evil. A shame that heathens like yourself do not know that.
