Trump-Putin call dismissed as "flop" by German defense minister
Trump and Putin held a call to discuss proposals for a 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine.

Germany's defense minister Boris Pistorius dismissed the call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it a "flop".
Pistorius made the comments on the German ZDF-Morgenmagazin program and they were reported by the newspaper Der Spiegel.
Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure "have not subsided after this supposedly trend-setting, great phone call," Pistorius reportedly said.
He added: "Putin is playing a game here and I am sure that the American president will not be able to stand by for long."
Pistorius also said there will come a time when Trump "will react, will have to react" to preserve the "strength and prestige" of the U.S.
The Trump-Putin call took place on Tuesday. It did not result in a full 30-day ceasefire in the Ukraine war as proposed by the Americans.
Putin did, however, agree to an immediate pause in strikes against energy infrastructure. Kyiv had also agreed to the same.
