Amazing to think in the 21st Century an American President can be played so easily by autocrats, first Kim Jong-un, a relative novice to world politics, and now Putin, who probably by this time next week will own Trump

Even more stunning is that in the process Trump aiming to appease Putin will alienate the very nations that have been America's most dependable allies for over seven decades

And the "rhetorical" defense is humorous, seems every time Trump puts his foot in his mouth or flat out lies, it's just "rhetorical," or as they used to say, just the "alternative facts," "he didn't mean it"

Putin has always denied any state meddling in our election -nothing new there.

How can those quotes be "uncontexted?" “Sometimes our worst enemies are our so-called friends or allies, right?” “Our allies in many cases were worse than our enemies.” They are direct quotes, feel free to provide the context, but I don't see what context would ever justify dissing our allies that directly

And Putin has denied it, but what is significant is that Trump says he believes him
