At the third presidential debate, Donald Trump invoked a video that says supporters of Hillary Clinton were paid to incite violence at one of his rallies in Chicago. It was an attack thread to emphasize that her campaign was "sleazy." But what Trump didn't say is that he has paid the filmmaker who he says uncovered the story.

The video, which was just released earlier this week and made by conservative activist James O'Keefe of Project Veritas, was paid $10,000 by the Trump Foundation in May of 2015 - one month before Trump's announcement of candidacy.

The payment was first reported by Think Progress and was listed in a compilation of donations the Trump Foundation gave to the Washington Post.

"I was wondering what happened with my rally in Chicago and other rallies where we had such violence. She's the one and Obama that caused the violence," Trump said at the debate.

O'Keefe has produced numerous videos that have attempted to take down members of the media, Democrats or progressives. He led the videos during the 2008 election of progressive group ACORN and attempted to show that Planned Parenthood sold aborted fetuses.

Breitbart is the platform where O'Keefe's videos are posted. The former head of Breitbart, Steve Bannon, is the CEO of Trump's campaign.

What's your point ?.....

The corruption proven by his video was well worth every penny he paid James O'Keefe's Project Veritas.....

After all their stated mission is to "investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty," and they have been surprisingly successful....

its not as if Trump was getting debate questions ahead of time or having secret meetings with State Dept. officials, or emailing classified material to Sidney Blumenthal, or giving money to the wife of an FBI agent that was supposed to investigate her email scandal...

 Not cooking on all four burners, are you.

The point is that O'Keefe is an unscrupulous liar, not a real muckraker, and his record shows it.

His record is outstanding and his aim is the same as mine....expose hypocrisy, corruption, dishonesty.....

Guess it all depends on your perspective.

O’Keefe's video footage includes a Democratic activist bragging about deploying troublemakers at rallies held by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Scott Foval and Robert Creamer, two little-known but influential Democratic political operatives, have left their jobs after video investigations by James O'Keefe's Project Veritas Action found them entertaining dark notions about how to win elections.

James O’Keefe is famous for having busted institutions ranging from the fraudulent voter-registration group ACORN to NPR. His Project Veritas team has also piled up an impressive array of videos documenting that the Pew survey numbers on voter registration could easily be translated into fraudulent votes with very little chance of detection.

In New Hampshire, he found it was easy to vote using the name of a dead person. In North Carolina, political operatives encouraged his undercover associates to vote even if they were non-citizens.

James O'Keefe's new explosive series on the DNC and Hillary Clinton campaign, Democratic party operatives tell us how to successfully commit voter fraud on a massive scale. Scott Foval, who has since been fired, admits that the Democrats have been rigging elections for fifty years.

He is a muckraker in the populist sense where you have to go with professional sleeze film investigations -
because the M.S.press doesn't do muckraking anymore..

Okeefe is the contemporary Bob Woodward.

Bob Woodward is not a criminal.
O'keefe is.

minor misdemeanor of entering a public building with out permission.
or entering the federal office of then-U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) under false pretenses, and the release of videos of conversations with two high-ranking, now former, NPR executives in 2011.

It looks like no matter how you chop the edits, the stand alone statements are true

"The Attorney General's Office...granted O'Keefe and Giles limited immunity from prosecution in exchange for providing the full, unedited videotapes related to ACORN offices in California. The AG found that O'Keefe had misrepresented the actions of ACORN workers and that the workers had not committed illegal actions. A preliminary probe by the GAO found that ACORN had managed its federal funds appropriately.[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP] One of the fired ACORN workers sued O'Keefe for invasion of privacy; OKeefe issued an apology and agreed to pay $100,000 in a settlement."

"In August 2010, O'Keefe planned a staged encounter with the CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau, who was doing a documentary on the young conservative movement. He set up an appointment at his office in Maryland to discuss a video shoot.[SUP][81][/SUP] Izzy Santa, executive director of Project Veritas, warned Boudreau that O'Keefe was planning to "punk" her on the boat by trying to seduce her—which he would film on hidden cameras.[SUP][81][/SUP][SUP][82][/SUP] Boudreau did not board the boat and soon left the area.[SUP][81][/SUP][SUP][82][/SUP]

CNN later published a 13–page plan written by O'Keefe mentor Ben Wetmore.[SUP][83][/SUP] It listed props for the boat scheme, including pornography, sexual aids, condoms, a blindfold and "fuzzy" handcuffs.[SUP][81][/SUP][SUP][82][/SUP][SUP][84][/SUP] When questioned by CNN, O'Keefe denied that he was going to follow the Wetmore plan, as he found parts of it inappropriate.[SUP][82][/SUP] Boudreau commented "that does not appear to be true, according to a series of emails we obtained from Izzy Santa, who says the e-mails reveal James' true intentions."[SUP][85][/SUP]

Following the Boudreau incident, Project Veritas paid Izzy Santa a five-figure settlement, which included a nondisclosure agreement.[SUP][86][/SUP] Funding decreased from conservative political organizations following this CNN incident."[SUP][86][/SUP]

it's pathetic he IS the modern investigative reporter, but even Geraldo moved on to Fox news.
That don't make them like that anymore

He is a criminally inventive yellow journalist.
He makes up the stories he reports that are ALWAYS partisan..
No credibility whatsoever.
Zero.
O'keefe makes Geraldo look like Walter Cronkite.

ACORN was formed in 1970 with the stated mission of advocacy for social issues such as affordable housing, better wages and benefits for workers, healthcare, and voter registration. ACORN did not fall under heavy scrutiny and, ultimately, collapse until the undercover investigation and footage release in 2009. Yet before O’Keefe and Giles came along, ACORN had a history of criminality and corruption. In 2008, it was discovered that Dale Rathke, the brother of the organization’s founder, had embezzled $1 million from ACORN between 1999-2000.[SUP]1[/SUP] Some sources reported that more was stolen and others reported that the founder and chief organizer, Wade Rathke, was involved as well. From 2004-2009, ACORN employees in over ten states faced charges for either committing voter registration fraud or tampering with records.[SUP]2[/SUP] However, ACORN suffered its biggest blow and subsequently filed for bankruptcy when O’Keefe and Giles confirmed the corruption previously demonstrated within ACORN.
SUCCESS

Ultimately, the investigation was meant to shed light on the nature of ACORN employees and expose the staff’s attitude toward the law. On this account, the video footage speaks for itself.
In retrospect, had authorities taken the opportunity to dig further into ACORN affairs in order to discover how deep corruption ran, what would they have found? Instead, authorities dismissed the investigation by calling the videos “selectively-edited,” by criticizing the actions of Giles and O’Keefe as deceptive, by labeling the behavior of ACORN employees as, at worst, “embarrassing and inappropriate,” and by focusing on the irrelevant pimp suit. The failure to investigate ACORN and to defend its moral bankruptcy is perhaps the greatest legacy and most important consequence of the investigation.

Just a sample of the lame excuses the liberal authorities came up with...try not to laugh.....

in the Philadelphia and San Diego offices, employees had no real intention of helping the pimp and prostitute,

in New York and DC, O’Keefe and Giles “did not make clear that they were planning to engage in child prostitution.” [SUP]([/SUP]As previously stated, O’Keefe and Giles made their intention to use underage El Salvadorian girls for prostitution plainly clear at every ACORN location they visited.)

in San Bernardino, the Attorney General’s office in California referred to a statement released by ACORN that “The San Bernardino ACORN receptionist knew it to be a prank and made outrageous and false statements.” In all cases, the government officials and news channels excused ACORN employees, saying they may have demonstrated inauthenticity, incompetency, misunderstanding, or absurdity, but never, criminality.

So not has changed since then....Dems in high places still make excuses for and refuse to hold their supporters accountable for obvious crimes....
Its even more obvious now than ever before.....

amazing to hear you complaining about partisan reporters....
at best he does "creative editing" which can slant a story.

What I can't see here is how this could have been edited/slanted to change the words coming out of the people's mouth.
Those are long stand alone statements. He is simply reporting those.

BINGO!!

O'Keefe makes up whatever nonsensical narrative he likes, then custom edits his "soundbites" to corroborate his claim.

He's been busted LYING, he's a criminal and his reputation has been tarnished beyond repair.

Sadly, desperate Trumpkin hatred for Hillary runs so deep, they still take him at his word.

these are hardly "soundbites" .they are long statements - how can you possibly "edit" these out? they STAND ALONE.

You can play the statements without ANY context ( questions from the undercover) and they are self-damning

O'Keefe did the exact same thing to the people at Planned Parenthood.

He DECEPTIVELY EDITED their comments so it would appear they sold body parts illegally.

That's his schtick and he's done the exact same thing this time.
