Trump does not care about your private property rights.

Mott the Hoople

Sweet Jane
Apparently Donald Trump is all for corrupt police practices like civil forfeitures of private property without due process of law. Apparently Trump is all in favor of a police officer just having to suspect you of a crime to seize your private property.

I guess this should come as no surprise from someone who's tried to use eminent domain laws to seize private property from citizens who did not wish to sell their property to Mr. Trump.

So much for your Constitutional rights, ehh? But hey...he will make sure a Muslim isn't hiding under your bed! LOL LOL LOL LOL

just as I predicted, fell right in line with the republican establishment of supporting police unions over the inalienable rights of the people

A 2014 Washington Post investigation found that police had taken billions of dollars in cash from motorists without search warrants, and without charging them with a crime.

^ worth reading if you missed it

Blah blah blah, no context, blah blah blah, outlandish idiocy, blah blah blah

Douchebag Donald used eminent domain for personal use as a private citizen for his own business plans. Is that context enough for you?

No surprise there. The right loves to be told what to do and how to behave. It's easier than thinking for themselves. Being a lemming is their primary goal in life. Where as the goal in life of the left is to control everything without ever actually having to make a decision.

All done under the nose of the Obama administration in 2014 ?......Why is the OP about Trump ?

Obama Exe. Order 13688

Federal Support for Local Law Enforcement Equipment Acquisition

https://www.bja.gov/publications/LEEWG_Report_Final.pdf

This eo has almost nothing to do with asset forfeiture. It is a guideline for what kind of equipment can be used and how it should be tracked.

Asset forfeiture started with Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984.

Well, I wasn't claiming it was started by Obama's EO...it was just meant to point out Obama was aware of it and didn't act to contain it which is irrelevant anyway...sorry about that...

actually, asset forfeiture has longer that the country, and the CCCA of 1984 was just one of several revisions of the rules....

“On asset forfeiture, we’ve got a state senator in Texas that was talking about introducing legislation to require conviction before we could receive that forfeiture money,” Eavenson said.

“Can you believe that?” Trump interjected.

“And I told him that the cartel would build a monument to him in Mexico if he could get that legislation passed,” the Texas sheriff continued.

“Who is the state senator? Do you want to give his name? We’ll destroy his career,” Trump replied, presumably suggesting that the lawmaker would suffer for holding a position contrary to the president’s.

...

Trump is actually shocked to hear that someone suggested requiring due process.

Interesting.....would you agree with the so called requirement of conviction in order to get that forfeiture ?

I could foresee the actual "drug mule" with the goods getting convicted and losing the drugs while a separate "money mule" getting a pass if that were the case...after all,
being in possession of a few million dollars in cash isn't really against the law is it ?. lol

but it would make for an interesting discussion someday.

The money mule would be guilty of conspiracy to sell drugs.

That's not very interesting, but your concern that the government might not be able to confiscate the property of someone who you think is doing nothing against the law is.
