If this is the case, the GOP should win the midterms handily?!!:rolleyes2:

President Donald Trump declared victory on the cost-of-living front amid cooling inflation during a speech in Georgia on Feb. 19.

“What word have you not heard over the last two weeks? Affordability,” Trump said during a public appearance at the Coosa Steel plant in Rome (1). “Because I’ve won. I’ve won affordability.”:whoa:

Although it’s true there’s been a recent cool-off in the consumer price index — annual increases fell from 2.7% in December to 2.4% in January while holding steady in February — Americans reported feeling more pain over the last year. (The prospect of a prolonged war in Iran adds an element of uncertainty, too.)

A survey from Resume Now, a resume-building platform, found the ability to afford the basics worsened for nearly 4 in 10 (39%) Americans in 2025 (2). A further 35% say it stayed the same, while 26% reported an improvement.

Only 12% of survey respondents say their pay kept up with rising costs. Furthermore, 49% dipped into their savings to survive, while 42% delayed major purchases, 24% took on debt and 22% borrowed from family or friends.

Some of these figures signal “a broader affordability crisis,” according to the report. “The gap between income and cost of living is now impacting both short-term survival and long-term financial stability.”

The usual Crazy Trump whitewash job.

Trump has recognized he is not going to be able to bring down prices as promised and worse America is now facing a new inflation wave where the FED will likely have to raise rates to counter.

So Trump instead will resort to simply telling the magats things are cheaper, inflation is down and interest rates are down, when they are not but demanding they repeat it and defend it.

Oil closing in on $110 a barrel as we speak...

And they will slurp it up and beg for more.

Trump says ‘prices are plummeting’ during SOTU. Here’s what the data says.

Crazy Trump touted progress on affordability over his first year in office in Tuesday’s State of the Union address, saying that some “prices are plummeting downward,” including eggs, chicken, butter, fruit, hotels, automobiles, and gas. His comments glossed over the fact that in aggregate, prices have continued to rise over the past 12 months, with the consumer-price index up 2.4% in January from a year earlier, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Even as the rate of price increases has slowed from the record highs seen during President Joe Biden’s term, most Americans still feel that affordability has not improved over the last year.

And they will slurp it up and beg for more.
They will as always...

Trump and The Republican party work for the super wealthy and corporations. Many are eating most of the price increases caused by his horrible acts and policies . They still want their tax breaks and the destruction of regulations, both business and environmental. They will take it for a while. If Trump cannot weasel out, the inflation will go up bigly. Can he hold them back until after the midterms?

He can’t lower gas prices, that’s a big hit to working families and it will affect every aspect of our society. Families won’t be able to afford to travel, vacation or some even drive to work. This is going to get very ugly and DonOld’s administration says consumers don’t matter, the economy is fine.
