China is getting all their soy beans from Brazil and Argentina.
I suggest that US farmers growing crops on US soil should produce crops they can sell domestically. If what they are growing isn't needed by America then what good are they to their country?
Cash/Profits are Good and the story that America feeds the world has long been a source of national pride.

Canada has already chosen to side with the EU and China because they refuse to cease their exploitation of the USA. This is NOT a smart path for them (long term).
EU auto companies (due to EU "climate change" policies) are already paying China (via carbon credit purchases) to destroy themselves (because China will use that money from EU auto companies towards subsidizing China's EVs). How STUPID of the EU!!! The EU is quite literally paying China to destroy their own auto industry!
On the Canada side of things, Canada thinks that they can replace lost exports to the USA with increased exports to China. What this ultimately means is that Canada is "selling their soul" to China. Good for China. NOT GOOD for Canada. However, this might push Alberta (and maybe even Saskatchewan) over the edge of finally seceding from Canada.
