Joe Biden - "Time to put Trump in the bullseye."
$150,000 sounds like a high bar to me. I'd say 70 thou.

march 13 2025 President Donald Trump's goal is to eliminate taxes for people earning less than $150,000 per year, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has said.

"I know what his goal is — no tax for anybody making under $150,000 a year. That's what I'm working for," Lutnick told CBS News on Wednesday.

He said that major tax cuts could be implemented without causing spiraling national debt through tackling overseas tax fraud. In 2022, around 93 percent of Americans aged 15 and over earned less than $150,000, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Trump said Mexico was going to pay for a new “thirty foot high concrete reinforced Wall” at the border, that he would never play golf when President, that he would end the Ukraine War in 24 hours, that Covid would fade without a vaccine, that he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with a “beautiful” program, that hydroxychloroquine could cure Covid, that he would eliminate rhe entire Federal deficit, that he would end North Korea’s nuclear program, that he would release his tax returns, that he would enact term limits on Congress, etc., etc., etc

Anyone who believes anything Trump says is dumb, dumber, the dumbest

The math does not work. trump wants to get rid of taxes on capital gains, so on most rich people. he wants to get rid of income taxes on the middle class, and the lower classes. That leaves the upper middle class to support everyone.

$150,000 is the upper part of the middle class today.
The line between middle class and upper middle class is somewhere around $150k, depending on the location.

Sounds like a plan to me.

It would make an uncrossable chasm between the middle class and the upper class. If you tried to get into the upper class, you would have to cross the upper middle class, where the taxes would be around 100%.

It would also mean America would lose almost all its doctors, engineers, etc. America would start looking like East Germany before the Russians built the wall.
