More than half of America disapproves of Trump!!! More than half of all Americans think less of Republicans!!! You are now a minority. Get use to it. Through his nominees and the actions he's taken his popularity drops day by day. And the divide between both parties will continue. The majority of America is speaking. It's become somewhat amusing now to see from day to day what controversy he'll start and what excuses his followers will make to TRY and cover his ass. Yes, the election is over, but the circus is only beginning. Can he take the heat for 4 years? No. He has what you would call "rabbit ears". The man hates criticism. One and done. Can all Americans, Republicans and Democrats, reunite one day? Time will tell.
 
Democrats — when analyzing the overall electoral strength of the party — are not in a very good place at the moment and may want to be wary of assuming they know what the country really wants.

In the House, Republicans are now in the midst of a sustained period in which they control more seats than they have since the late 1940s. In the Senate, Republicans not only control 52 seats but have an election cycle in 2018 in which they could, plausibly, approach the coveted 60-vote plateau.

and republicans are actually crushing it, contrary to your OP. They are dominating all over the place, control 25 states outright, control both houses of congress, the presidency, the supreme court, and 2018 looks very very good for republicans. But hey, maybe you'll get another million in cali in 2020 and meanwhile republicans will get the right to draw up new districts.

You missed my point. As I said the election is over, BUT you are a minority as far as the political scene goes in this country. You are in control now, but through your actions history will judge you. As of now it's on the VERY negative side.
 
So Republicans control the Presidency, Congress, something like 32 Governorships and I believe a majority of state legislatures but the party is in trouble now? You went to Michigan right?


(now I do think Trump will bring long term trouble to the Republican Party but that's not what's being discussed here)

I'm not betting on anything but I do think that the current GOP coalition of business elites and white working class nationalist is probably an untenable coalition in the long run but what should really concern JPP conservatives is that something must truly be fundamentally wrong with your party if Grind supports it. This would keep me up at nights if I was a Republican.

This present Republican term will forever be judged through results. Right now the majority of all Americans give it a big thumbs down. Time will tell.

Do the business elites still support Republicans? Look at our money centers such as NY and SF/Silicon Valley. These places are heavily democratic. Yes of course there are still the country club Republicans but I think your true elite are in the democratic camp

i don't really support the republicans much except on taxes, less regulation, judges. I hate their stance on privacy, war mongering, military spending, drug regulation, privatizing prisons, net neutrality, cronyism, and many other such things. But brain food is delusional, democrats are way worse right now, just on every objectionable level.

Wanna know who is losing? Look for who is whining and making excuses. It's isn't the republicans.

Republicans didn't win shit. They stole this election by gerrymandering, voter suppression, and using the media to spread lies for 8 long years. They plotted, planned, and put fourth the biggest heist since GWB whilst we were talking about Hilary's non existent emails.

Let's not forget, no matter how many times the right spouts it's win and try to blame California, 3 million more Americans did not for this clown.

And yes, they are the minority that's why they wanted control so bad.
