Who didn't see this coming? We haven't heard one word yet from Mueller and cons are already starting to run scared. I wish my tax dollars could go toward group therapy for the trump administration.

"Prominent conservatives including former Speaker Newt Gingrich fired off salvos at special counsel Robert Mueller on Monday, insisting that the man leading the probe into allegations of links between the Trump campaign and Russia is out to damage the president.

But the wave of criticism sparked other Republicans to warn that any concerted push against the special counsel could be politically disastrous for the White House.

"Can you think of one thing that Trump could do worse than fire Bob Mueller?" asked John 'Mac' Stipanovich, a veteran GOP operative in Florida with ties to the Bush family. "It would be catastrophic for him. Not uncharacteristic, but catastrophic."

Gingrich, a leading Trump ally, took to Twitter on Monday morning to assail Mueller. He tweeted

that "Republicans are delusional if they think the special counsel is going to be fair."

Despite criticism on social media from users who highlighted Gingrich's praise for Mueller upon his initial appointment last month - he had then called the appointment "superb" - Gingrich doubled down on his earlier criticisms in a phone interview with The Hill.

The former Speaker said that he was "urging the American people to understand that this is a rigged game intended to bring down the Trump administration."

Mueller is a close friend of Comey..I doubt that was considered when the (whatever this is endless morass is )
investigation was on Russian collusion.

But now it's about Comey vs. Trump..not Russian collusion

also 1 of the...prosecutors(?) has a VERY wide definition of "Obstructionism" -which was shot down by SCOTUS..

I'd have to source that 2nd part.

Anyone with an inkling of what is going on knows that Mueller will recommend impeachment and will bring criminal charges against Trump and his chumps.

Republicans are famous for their preemptive strikes against justice and truth.

His DOJ [or better yet, Rosenstein] should force Mueller to recuse under the Federal Code pertaining to SP's and conflicts of interest. Mueller and Comey are personal friends---how can that NOT BE a conflict of interest? Maybe someone can explain that to me.

Anyone?

As it sits, it has all the makings of a fix.

I googled that and found it's the latest talking point on RW sites. Where was all the angst a month ago when he was first appointed by trump insider Rod Rosenstein? Comey was a deputy attorney general and Mueller was head of the FBI and that does not that translate to "personal friends". By your standard none of these people could work with each other because as the thinking goes, DC is just a big incestuous culture.

A month ago, Comey wasn't a witness in an obstruction charge against Trump.

If Mueller would just focus on Russia, me and other conservatives would be ok with it.
