And its not very heartening to see you still refusing to acknowledge this caretaker's show of respect for his country and its flag as a good and positive thing.

There is more show of patriotism in this country, beginning with the 1st Gulf War then since WWII.

I saw an article the other day on fb where a young vet claimed he was tired of hearing people thank him for his service. It had basically lost meaning to him because he had heard it so often, from so many people. He did appreciate the free meals, beers and other gestures, but felt people really didn't mean it because so many people thanked him, clapped on airplanes and were nice.

The Vietnam vets ripped him a new one.

Patriotism to me is in being the best citizens you can be and making sure your country is the best it can be.
