Tough Times? Obama Has Private Jet, Tax Free Chef, Security Detail and Free Rent

Make him pay for his own phone calls as well. That's what i say.

Bloody freeloader.

What are you going to do, we live in a country made up of idiots. That's become crystal clear. Thanks to this shitty economy I see no quick way out, but I want out by the time I'm 50. I don't want to die here, surrounded by this inanity, this insipidness, this stupidity.

Come now Darla, the board isn't that bad is it?

Very funny Charver! :)

Yes, it is! However, it's but a microcosm.
Hey, there are flashes of trolldom, but the vast majority on this board are quite intelligent. And you know my massive mind makes you want me...

:bleh:

There are decent and funny people are here but some just refuse to accept the reality of the days we are living in.

So are we griping about he president's salary and perks or are we griping about the media talking about people griping about the president's salary and perks or about the people themselves who are griping about the president's salary and perks.

We are gripping at the attempt to make hey over something that everyone agrees is necessary to allow the president to do his job fully.

The idiotic distraction that the republicans use to keep from doing their real job.

Who's complaining Desh?

If that is truly the case then I find myself in agreement with you and Darla (gasp!!). It is stupid for them to even bring this up.

I will not blame the "idiotic" republicans en masse because I am not sure that all of them feel the way "corporate America"* does, who were the ones mentioned in the article. In fact I know many of them who do not, along with several level-headed democrats.

*"Corporate America quickly pointed out that while the president also only makes $400,000 a year, he gets all sorts of extra perks and doesn't have to pay taxes on them."

Unfortunately many of our government officials, both dems and reps, are in the pocket of corporate America. :(

You know you have been had when the guy you voted for's most ethical member of his cabinet is Hillary Clinton.

one private equity worker on Dealbreaker.com, a Wall Street gossip site and blog

One worker is complaining and you claim its the Republicans who are complaining? One worker whose political affiliation you don't know? And that is your projection?

Its' funny, one worker is complaining, but it becomes a big story on the ABC news site.

That tells you something.

What a joke. To compare the 'perks' of the CIC to a CEO? LMAO. To say the jobs are not even in the same ballpark would be a massive understatement. They are not even in the same country, let alone state or city as the ballpark.

Not to many crazy radicals out there that would try to asassinate a CEO. Though if they continue down the path they currently are on, that may soon change.

I'd have no problem if they paid the President more. It's a stupid story other than we are in a time when every persons salary and benefits are getting reviewed its probably not unreasonable the President gets reviewed as well. And Obama has put down others for using perks with tax payer money as he is doing himself. But ultimately who cares. Presidents could make millions in the private sector so they deserve all the perks they get with such a small salary.
