Top Nine GOP Econ Lies!

A good thread....it just might get you pinheads thinking a little.....

What is Liberty saying....????

Higher taxes causes inflation.....

What is pinhead bfgrn saying......???

Higher taxes means more unemployment.....

Republicans have been trying to drill these facts into democratic numbskull's for decades.....

High taxes suck......and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Good post bravo!

I'm not sure what bfgrn is saying because I haven't kept up with his posts, but higher taxes do create inflation.

Maybe you need a drill for the hole in your head. Republicans can squeal and shout their false arguments for centuries, it still doesn't make it anything but FALSE.

No REAL businessman who has a brain is going to raise prices, hire or fire based on his personal annual income taxes. He will ALWAYS make those decisions based on the market, his needs (increased production) and sound business practices. If any business COULD raise their prices, they WOULD TODAY. The only thing that limits pricing is the market and his competition in that marketplace. THAT is why we have anti trust laws. You have a child's brain.

Oh,,,, that's right. You're a marxi,,,, I mean a dem.

You're so smart Bfgrn.:)

You need to get out of class and check out the real business world sometime.

Real business world? I spent 25 years in heavy equipment sales, as a John Deere then a Caterpillar rep. My most profitable 6 figure years were when I was paid 100% commission with a draw. I called on thousands of corporations, from small owner/operators with a backhoe to billion dollar corporations with a fleet. I know all about maximizing profit and market share. I have many friends that are millionaires. The most successful ones share the SAME views on business and how to treat people as I do. You don't talk like any businessman I know. You talk like a naive child who is spewing right wing propaganda.

I believe you are a really good liar. I doubt you ever worked in the capacity described, if you ever had a private sector job, it was with some union, but you are more than likely just like our president, you have zero private sector experience. And I think you and Joe Biden need to either put up or shut up... where are all these "rich people" you know, who agree with your idiotic notions? We never seem to actually hear from them directly... has anyone else noticed this? It's always someone like Bfoon or Biden, who KNOW them, and it's always a sentiment which was confided to them in private.... we're just supposed to accept it as the Gospel, because, well, Bfoon and Biden wouldn't ever LIE about something like that! What's the matter with these people? Why won't they confide these sentiments to the general public? Are they afraid the rest of their rich friends will ostracize them for supporting Marxist Socialism?

What's funny is, I happen to know a good many business owners and former business owners, some are fairly wealthy, but every one of them were members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is this administration's "Public Enemy #1" ....just ahead of alQaeda and the TEA Party.

Hey Dixie, your thread is not an indictment of me, it is an indictment of YOU. It is merely a window into your honesty and character. You're just too stupid to comprehend that.

I'd be happy to discuss the nuts & bolts of construction equipment with you...like what are the advantages of a planetary transmission over a counter-shaft design, what size stick on an excavator is the best match for each application etc, but it is irrelevant. I was not in the equipment business, I was in the people business.

Here is what I learned from those 25 years of experience. ALL successful businesses and businessmen put people first. People aren't stupid Dixie. They're not pawns or fools. The success of any company is directly proportional to the way they treat their employees, because those employees return that investment ten fold in a positive way or a negative way. And companies that devalue their employees will ultimately devalue their customers.

After years of calling on thousands of corporations, I could give you an accurate profile of the owners without ever meeting them. It is always reflected in their employees.

I don't get a draw.

CAT, JD, Exxon, etc, and many little companies all over the world buy my products.

The words you choose are what one would expect from a Marxist.

Common Sense is something you're in need of.:)

"Allentown", was a Billy Joel song that used Allentown, PA as an allegory to describe how Reaganomics was screwing the country into the ground in the 1980's. Lehigh Valley's unemployment rate was about 11 percent in 1983, if I remember correctly, above the national average at the time....and workers were losing their jobs at Bethlehem Steel plant there. Reagan's gov't were the pointmen in resisting unions taking over failing companies.

Yes, Billy Joels song raised a lot of ire when it hit the charts, Lehigh Valley residents were quite pissed about its unfair portrayal of life in Allentown...though when he returned to Allentown some years later, he was warmly greeted......

The unemployment rate was about 11% in '83 as you say...but what you conveniently fail to mention is that from 1970 to 1979 the rate was 14.1%.
Carternomics had taken its toll....Thats Democratic economy to you.
And by the end of Reagan's 8 years, the rates were quite improved...

as Bethlehem Steel was shedding jobs, there were many other businesses hiring those workers that had not just retired (it was an aging workforce)....there was also a major influx of minority's flooding the Lehigh Valley skewing the unemployment numbers.....

:palm: Bravo is either in denial or just plain fucking dumb. Nixon and Ford were in the Presidential seat until 1977, so much for blaming Carter for everything, because he inherited Nixon's 5 Year Plan on economics. Also, in 1983 the country's employment rate was about 9.5%....so Lehigh Valley was around 2 percentage points higher than the rest of the country...small wonder Joel used Allentown as an image for his song. And WTF is Bravo's blathering about hurt feelings in Lehigh Valley got to do with the TRUE FACTS I put forth?

We just went through 8 years of Reaganomics on steroids....and the neocon driven GOP has made it clear they are still on that disasterous path. How quickly they forget....and how ignorant of the FACTS braying jackasses like Bravo are. Here's a little dose of reality to burst this Bravo dummy's bubble:

Valley's jobless rate soars to new high
http://www.allbusiness.com/economy-e...2541171-1.html

Already, 37,500 local residents are out of work. That's the most since 1983, when pop artist Billy Joel was on the radio singing about "living here in Allentown, and they're closing all the factories down. Out in Bethlehem they're killing time, filling out forms, standing in line."

Applying for jobs or filing for unemployment checks is rarely done by standing in line anymore, but the situation is similar.

Some 20,000 Pennsylvanians are expected to exhaust their jobless benefits in mid-July.

Once again, Bravo wastes time and space trying to bluff past the fact that Bravo just doesn't know WTF is going on. All that moot stuff by Bravo with just a little supposition and conjecture about Bethlehem Steel. Bravo failed as usual.

37,500 local residents are out of work. That's the most since 1983?

Yes,...but 37, 500 residents out of work in 2009 is not the same as 37,500 residents out of work in 1983.....

So, your entire rant is bullshit when its put into perspective of the times....
Reaganomics was actually a recovery period for the valley....a recovery from the disaster of Jimmy Carter's years....

But, to be fair...I'm not blaming Carter for anything, ...he, like the rest of us, were victims of world events and conditions he had little control over....like the price of oil and the major downturn of the coal industry in the surrounding areas of Allentown....

:palm: Bravo needs to get the crack out of his pipe, folks. The article used 1983 as a reference as to how bad the unemployment rate in that particular area has gotten....you can't diminish or dismiss that FACT with a bunch of convoluted "what if's" or "would have, should have's" like Bravo does.

As I point out above, Bravo's grasp of historical facts and how to relate them to current events is deplorable at best. What's worst, he first directly blames Carter, and then turns around and claims otherwise.

My point still stands:only an idiot would support a neocon driven GOP hell bent on reinstituting the reagan/bush reaganomics that have royally screwed this country.

And Carter was in the presidential seat for ALL of 1977,78,79, and 1980

His 4 of years at the helm, was a waste of 4 years....he accomplished nothing....
I specifically DID NOT blame Carter, in quite plain and simple English, for the issues and events that he had no control over....so I think the "fucking dumb" label definitely belongs on your forehead....

Also, in 1983 the country's employment rate was about 9.5%....so Lehigh Valley was around 2 percentage points higher than the rest of the country...small wonder Joel used Allentown as an image for his song. As I pointed out....in 1979 the unemployment rate was about 14% in the Lehigh Valley area and by 1983 IT HAD IMPROVED TO ABOUT 11%.....
Even a pinhead of your limited intellect must realize that going from 14% ro 11% is improvement.....

The article says NOTHING about how bad the unemployment HAD GOTTEN in 1983.... but about had bad it had gotten in 2009

If thats what you got from the article, then you mis-understood it......unemployment was improving in '83 from even worse numbers in '79
The article pointed out that
37,500 local residents were out of work in 2009 was about the same amount of residents that were out of work in 1983.
The population of the area in '09 was about 120,000 higher than in '83

As I point out above, Bravo's grasp of historical facts and how to relate them to current events is deplorable at best. What's worst, he first directly blames Carter, and then turns around and claims otherwise.

As you and I have read, folks....Bravo SPECIFICALLY stated "Carternomics had taken its toll....Thats Democratic economy " after citing years that only included TWO (years) of Carter's term in office. Also, Bravo was unaware of Nixon's 5 Year Plan, of which Carter inherited. How Bravo can claim his statements don't blame Carter can only be based upon possible drug use.
Also, in 1983 the country's employment rate was about 9.5%....so Lehigh Valley was around 2 percentage points higher than the rest of the country...small wonder Joel used Allentown as an image for his song. You’re either a liar or delusional or just plain stupid, Bravo…..according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment stats for PA barely reached 7.1% in 1979. So unless Bravo can provide some legitimate source to document his statement that Lehigh Valley had double it’s state and the country’s unemployment rate, which was between 6% and 7%, he's just either just blowing smoke or confusing information again.

Bravo needs to get the crack out of his pipe, folks. The article used 1983 as a reference as to how bad the unemployment rate in that particular area has gotten....you can't diminish or dismiss that FACT with a bunch of convoluted "what if's" or "would have, should have's" like Bravo does.

Once again, Bravo stubbornly holds onto HIS INTERPRETATION of what was PLAINLY stated to the contrary. According to the Dept. of Labor, in 1983 the unemployment rate in the USA averaged 9.5%, while in Lehigh Valley it was a little over 11%. To date, I find NO gov’t statistic that backs Bravo’s claim that in 1979 Lehigh Valley had a 14% unemployment rate in 1979, as I've pointed out above.

As I point out above, Bravo's grasp of historical facts and how to relate them to current events is deplorable at best. What's worst, he first directly blames Carter, and then turns around and claims otherwise.

Bravo is just one pathetic person, folks. His Bravado of willful ignorance and insipid stubbornness borders on the irrational. Small wonder the neocon driven GOP can count on his kind for blind support while they get pissed on.

Libby you're such a retard. :palm:

And here's another example of the intellectually bankrupt neocon peanut gallery, folks. Damn Yankee can't debate the issue, and can't logically/factually support his compadres....so DY just spews sour grapes. :palm: What a pathetic joker Damn Yankee is.

I'm still waiting for some corroboration for "signalman kenneth's" assertion that these are "lies".

Libby, why do so many black kids grow up without fathers?

Just to let you know folks, Damn Yankee is obviously someone who I defeated and humilitated on some past discussion board....and he's so embittered that all he can do is follow me around and spew race baiting, totally off topic tripe like you see here. Damn Yankee is just another intellectually bankrupt neocon parrot who got his wings clipped by me. So unless he's got cojones to debate an issue rationally and logically, I'll just ignore him from now on and let him show his true personality to the world.

Yeah OK but you still FAILED to answer the question. :)

Surely, you can prove that "Damn Yankee is obviously someone who I defeated and humilitated on some past discussion board" and "got his wings clipped by me"?

And here's another defeated neocon parrot squawking the typical mantras.....when neocons are proven wrong, they immediately try to change the subject and/or lie about what has previously transpired. Case in point; Mojo ignores Damn Yankee's injected race baiting because he's just hell bent on proving me wrong on any level, DESPITE the fact of my making Bravo look like a damned fool. All one has to do is to back track the chronology of this thread to see that I speak the truth. What you'll now see is a group of defeated neocon buffoons follow-up each others lies and dodges an oft repeated assertions (that were logically and factually proven wrong) in a maudlin exchange that is pathetic as their authors. I leave them to their folly.
