Today's the Big Day!

And what a lineup it is!

A racist crank from Texas (I guess that is redundant?). A papist preacher boy who says women don't need no birth control! That just leads to doing stuff that God never meant for no woman to do! And if you do it, you are going to have a baby, every time, so sayeth the Lord Santorum and that is just that ladies! So close your legs or get ready to open them a whole lot wider than you were planning on! You are having a baby! Bitch!

Or is it going to be the crazy waitress who pours water and plays servant for her male competitors? Slick "my relative died of a botched abortion and that's why I'm pro-choice, oh wait" Goodhair?

Well, I can hardly wait! Whoever it is, they are sure to beat Obama! I know because posters here have said so!

Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot about the Newt! The Newt is surging! The Newt is in a powerful forward surge! Oh, I feel faint! Newt is going to power surge past all Republican comers and all polls show him cleaning Obama's clock come November!

hehehe.

That is soooo 2011! Mitt made himself some Newt soup via Citizens United, a little decision you may have heard about! A little decision that Newt the power surger loved and embraced!

Oh well, live by the sword, etc etc etc!

dont they understand that in their own argument that will cause fraud?

Well yes they do.

They just know there is no fruad and all the evidence proves it, they also know fewer people vote when you require more hoops to jump through.

They only want that hoop in the way when its a real elections because they know more democratic voters will have trouble jumping through that hoop.

Are Democrats less intelligent? it is no harder for a dem to get an ID than a republican. Or do ALL democrats live too far from the ID gettin' place, don't have a car, are to old, to infirm, to poor. Is the deck really that much more stacked against democrats than republicans? If it is then maybe god really is a republican.

they are poorer.

Its why the republicans target poor people to disenfranchise voters.

More poor people vote democratic.

Of course...it's just the latest example of that well known Rightie mantra being put to work in real life situations:

Do as I say and NOT as I do!

They demand those EEEEEEVIL Liberals be required to show Government ID...but not voters taking part in today's caucuses.

Everyone is giving these caucuses way too much signiicance. No one is casting a vote. Every person is free to change their mind after the caucus.

I'm predicting Romney 30, Paul 23, Santorum 22. Romney will pick up a plurality of the undecideds, whereas Paul has reached his high watermark (unfortunately).

Paul has good positions on some issues, but as far as the whole package is concerned, it is very fortunate that he has reached his high water mark. What is unfortunate is that his high water mark is as high as it is.

Do you believe anyone and everyone should be allowed to vote? What about age requirements? Felons? Illegals?

In my view all persons eligible to vote should be automatically registered to vote. There should be no process to vote other than voting. No registration X days in advance of election day. And there shouldn't be "election day." There should be "election weekend." No Tuesday bullshit. We should vote at a time when the majority of people do not have other obligations, like working. The first Tuesday in November may have been such a time the 18th Century, but it ain't so now.

People that are not lawfully present in the United States shouldn't be able to vote. Felons should be allowed to vote following the period of their incarceration.

If you look at U.S. history and you reach the conclusion that the bigger problem in our elections is that too many people cast ballots while impersonating lawful voters as opposed to people putting up obstacles to prevent eligible voters from voting, you need to have your head examined. Voter ID laws are just the latest entry in our long and sad history of vote suppression.
