STPAUL, MN – A teen has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after he raped an elderly woman in revenge for her having him thrown in jail for burglarizing her home.

Curtez Graham was only 16 when he was convicted of burglarizing a 65-year-old woman’s home on two separate occasion in 2011. He was sentenced to Boys Totem Town before being sent to a juvenile correctional facility. While on a 10-day work furlough in June of last year, Graham removed the ankle bracelet monitoring his activities and paid the woman a visit.

He entered the woman’s home for a third time after breaking out a window, and headed to her bedroom on the third floor where she and her male companion were sleeping. They were awakened by Graham as he stood naked in the bedroom brandishing a pair of scissors.

“Bitch, you sent me to prison for 14 months,” he reportedly said before threatening to kill them unless they did what he said. After forcing the man to tie himself up, he raped the woman in front of him. When Graham was done, he ordered her to take a shower and wash between her legs.

The 18-year-old was eventually caught and pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal sexual conduct, first-degree burglary and kidnapping. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

“We seldom see crimes as completely inhumane as this,” prosecutor C. Ryan Tennison said in court Tuesday. “This man raped the victim in her home in front of her loved one. … (He) earned every day of this lengthy prison sentence.”

Graham’s attorney said his client never minimized or deflected his behavior. “He knows he robbed the victims of their confidence, privacy and safety,” Murad Mohammad said. “Curtez knows he has many years now to reflect on what he did, and to come out as a member of society, rather than a scourge.”

I wouldn’t hold your breath, Mohammad.

To conservatives, they're the victims!

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) — The final court case involving the death of an elderly Coal Center woman was bound to be emotional and it was. Paramedics were called to the courtroom for one of the defendants.

With a weak voice, Diane McClelland had just told the family of the victim she was “very, very sorry,” and then she collapsed in the courtroom. The family of the victim thought it was an act.

She said she was sorry, but she wouldn’t look us in the face. She was looking down as though she was looking at where she was going to fall,” said the victim’s niece, Dolores Sprowls. But when Diane McClelland recovered, she was sentenced to 24 1/2 to 49 years in prison for her conviction on charges including conspiracy to commit homicide.

The judge said she was in on the scheme to steal from 92-year-old Evelyn Stepko, who was killed by McClelland’s husband, David A. McClelland.

Diane’s stepson, David J. McClelland, a former police officer, claimed he didn’t know much about where his father got all that money. A jury and the judge disagreed. He got life in prison for his conviction on second-degree murder.
