we're having a thanksgiving potluck dinner for ten canadian and american expats at our home this afternoon. We're responsible for the cranberry sauce (done), the mashed potatoes (just cut and soaking in water waiting for the right time to boil them) and the turkey (8.5kilos... sitting in an iced cooler in Alton Brown's signature brine, waiting to go into the over at 2:30 this afternoon. Others are bringing vegetable side dishes, desserts, and special thanksgiving cocktails. We have much to be thankful for: a nice income, a lovely home, fantastic neighborhood, wonderful friends.... yours truly will be saying grace.
