Thats a damn funny post....still has me laughing....
Of course, NOTHING you mention has anything to do with getting connected to the net or this backhanded attempt to control it....
I happen to think a national ID card is necessary for every citizen in the country, especially voters, and anyone wanting aid from the government.
The TSA WAS a necessary organization that is now out of control...When the TSA was run by John Magaw (2001) is was a fine agency....and it wasn't until this administration and the leadership of Napolitano that it got out of control and complaints started to flood in. And imaging machines weren't used in GW'a admin, you pinhead....thats another Obama wet dream .
And now that I've stopped laughing, all this is for another thread.....
I happen to agree with you my little jolly jack. People who fear ID cards are to stupid to be allowed out on their own.
'Oh', they say, 'it infringes our freedom!!!' Bull ... (pauses and raises voice) SHIT! Your government already knows everything about you including, probably, when you last changed your underwear!!.
ID cards are great. Life is so-o-o easy with them. Here's an example: Some time ago we moved house. By quoting my ID card I was able to change all my utility billing and bank details. When it came to informing the UK I ran into problems. Will you accept a scan of my HKID? No. Will you accept a scan of my passport? Nope. What will you accept? Answer: You must submit a verified copy of a utility bill addressed to you at your new address.
Who has paper utility bills? No one I know!! Anyway, if I get one can I scan it? Nope. So I must go into town, purchase a stamp, purchase an envelope, purchase some paper for the covering letter then call at the electricity board office to ask for a hard copy of my latest bill (which means filling in a short form and quoting my ID number) placing the said bill in the aforementioned envelope, affixing a stamp having first established whether or not the postage rate has changed since I last used the post office service several years ago, affixing the correct value of stamps, finding a post box and hoping the various airplanes, vans, and assorted yaks find the correct address and that my precious package finds the correct person.
The lady, bless her, to whom I spoke seemed surprised when I told her that we had, in fact, won World War II and that Herr Hitler had departed this world a long time ago.
When, when, when will the UK and I bet its the same in the US, pull themselves and their legions of 'Jobsworths' into the twenty-first century.
ID cards make life so easy. ID cards have a record of any tax you owe (not the amount, simply that you owe) which means that a business man, with just cause, can have you checked out before allowing you to walk off with his hard earned profit. It says whether you are a citizen or, by default, an II. And if someone decides to bomb a building it can stop the accused from escaping through the ports and airports. By placing my thumb on a thingamajig and showing my ID, I can pass through immigration in seconds.
Bloody hell, that was much longer than I intended, but (to Damo) I think our problems are fixed. Thanks.
