This Is Why Trump Lies Like There’s No Tomorrow

In a 2017 Scientific American article building on Lee’s research, “How the Science of ‘Blue Lies’ May Explain Trump’s Support,” Jeremy Adam Smith argued that Lee’s work:

highlights a difficult truth about our species: We are intensely social creatures, but we are prone to divide ourselves into competitive groups, largely for the purpose of allocating resources. People can be prosocial — compassionate, empathetic, generous, honest — in their group and aggressively antisocial toward out-groups.

If we see Trump’s lies, Smith continued, “not as failures of character but rather as weapons of war, then we can come to see why his supporters might view him as an effective leader. From this perspective, lying is a feature, not a bug, of Trump’s campaign and presidency.”

The low IQ Magaturds just don't know the difference between lies and bravado.

Why is Trump and the right wing always angry?

"anger promotes the use of self-serving deception. The decision to engage in self-serving deception balances concern for oneself (i.e., self-interest) and concern for others (i.e., empathy). The greater concern individuals exhibit for themselves and the lower concern for others, the more deceitful they are likely to be.

they are more likely to deceive others. We find that angry individuals are less concerned about the welfare of others, and consequently more likely to exhibit self-interested unethical behavior. Across our studies, we link incidental anger to self-serving deception."

Simply put- Trumptards believe Lying is Bravado!

They don't don't want a leader to drive 55!

Heaven's No! They would rather have their leader in a Russian tank crushing the life out of their political adversaries- by whatever means possible- and lying is the go to weapon of choice to do that with.

Equally disturbing is Trump's ignorance, of which there are many examples.

When the President of the United States went around telling everyone that Lincoln was a Republican - but according to him most people didn't know it until he came along - was that a tactic too?

If so, WTH was the point of it?

I used to crack up when conservatives would try to compare Obama to Trump when it came to lying, and always cited "you can keep your health plan" or whatever it was. 1 statement, that wasn't even really a lie.

Trump has turned lying into such an art form. He's amazing at it. He lies like he breathes. Literally thousands of documented lies at this point.

I always say it, but conservatives have FOREVER ceded honesty as any kind of issue.
