NC deputies claim fast food workers targeted them with overly-spicy chicken wings

Two sheriff’s deputies from North Carolina say they were taunted by employees over the weekend and served overly spicy food at a fast food restaurant.

A Facebook post by one deputy’s wife has gone viral, after she described how her husband and another Cleveland County sheriff’s deputy were mocked and served tainted food Sunday at a Zaxby’s franchise in Shelby, reported WBTV-TV.

“I have pretty much kept my mouth shut, publicly, about the status of our country these days…but enough is enough!” the wife posted on social media. “It is tough enough to watch my husband put on his uniform and go out into a world full of hate towards cops, all while I sit home and worry if he will return home safely. But today just put the icing on the cake.”

The woman described how the two deputies, who were on duty and wearing their uniforms, were mistreated at the fried chicken restaurant three days after a gunman killed five police officers and wounded five others at a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Dallas.

“As they walked up to place their orders, the boys in the back cooking the food started yelling at them and calling them names,” she wrote. “Being the professional deputies that they are, neither of them replied to the rude comments or acknowledged it. Then, as they sat down to eat their food, my husband realized that the boys had put the hottest sauce possible on my his wings — to the point where his food wasn’t even fit to eat.”

WBTV spoke to the woman’s husband, who asked to remain anonymous, and he confirmed her account of the incident.

Capt. Joel Shores, of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office, said the mistreatment angered him but did not surprise him.

“Years ago, this profession was respected, it was honored,” Shores said. “Now to get ridiculed, to be a target, to possibly get shot at, for little pay. What’s the motivation to be a police officer other than do it because your heart’s in it to help the community?”

“If you’re not ready to be ridiculed, law enforcement is not the job for you — especially in today’s world,” the captain added.

A representative from Zaxby’s corporate office said the restaurant is independently owned and operated by a franchisee, who has not commented on the incident.

But the company has launched an internal investigation into the alleged mistreatment — which has also sparked major backlash on social media.

“Hey Zaxby’s, You let crap like this happen in your restaurants???” posted Facebook user Kim Gordon. “The manager and staff should be fired! ‪#‎AllLivesMatter‬ ‪#‎Youshouldbeashamed”

“I hope the thug fools who were working last night and treated these law enforcement officers with such disrespect gets FIRED!” posted Facebook user Linda Susan Dellinger. “I will Not ever go near zaxbys after this.”

“Fire their disrespectful black asses IMMEDIATELY,” posted Facebook user Randy Webb.

What do you mean by your thread title? Are you belittling or mocking the police here?

We may need to find a place for the police in the democrat party hierarchy.

If memory serves, demalquedacrats are all about "first responders" when issues of taxing and spending come up.

They are down there with white males. Police is a trump card though. So if you are black or hispanic and a policeman you get treated like a white male by the dems. :) Being police = being a race traitor :)

And of course you would never "think" of bitching nor complaining if you suspected someone of tampering with the substance that keeps you alive...FOOD, when they are paid to serve food to the public? Makes you think does it not....just how many "Luggies" you may of ingested, when there is a demonstration that some do not respect civil service employees......no? If they over seasoned the police food.....maybe you have received more of a SECRET SAUCE than you ever expected and ate it in ignorance....over the years.

I for one never complain or bitch to anyone that handles the food that I am about to eat...it does not matter if its 99 cent burger or a 50 dollar steak...both just happen to be cooked to perfection "EVERY TIME." Think about it.......This is not humorous in the least....its a sad statement concerning the "poisoning" of American Society....by PROPAGANDA.

If I ordered food and it arrived at the table improperly prepared, then I would ask the waitress to return the food to the kitchen and have it prepared properly.

I sure wouldn't think I was being "targeted" by the kitchen staff.

It appears that because they're Police that they should just expect to be insulted, mocked, and insulted and then not to complain about improper service or treatment.
It would appear that Zap expects the Police to be the new whipping boys of the plantation.

You wouldn't think you were targeted by workers who were calling you names from the back? How many workers in back have called you names in your restaurant going experiences?

He's full of shit and we can use the number of times he's complained about his perception of how he's been treated on JPP to provide proof of that behavior and using his past behavior, one can only imagine the outburst he would throw if he was being mocked, disrespected, and insulted by "kitchen workers" who then tampered with his order.

If someone in the back was calling someone names who was in the lobby of the restaurant, then others would have heard the insults...management included.

If my food arrived improperly prepared AFTER I'd been called names by employees, then if I hadn't already, I most certainly would let management know about my food and about the comments from employees.

No, something isn't right with the cop's story.

ROFL!!

Poor USF.

Big and brave when talking ABOUT me.

Yet still too chickenshit to talk TO me.

He's been this way since JPP Mods perma-banned his "manhood" years ago.

2 N.C. cops say they were taunted, served bad food at restaurant

Two North Carolina sheriff's deputies say they were taunted and served inedible food at a restaurant in Shelby.

Cleveland County Sheriff's Capt. Joel Shores told CBS affiliate WBTV he was angry, but not surprised by what happened at the Zaxby's restaurant Sunday.

Shores posted a message on Facebook on behalf of the wife of one of the deputies, who were not identified.

"Years ago, this profession was respected, it was honored. Now to get ridiculed, to be a target, to possibly get shot at, for little pay... what's the motivation to be a police officer other than do it because your heart's in it to help the community?" Shores said.

She said cooks yelled at the deputies and called them names. She said her husband and his partner ignored the insults and ordered anyway. The woman said her husband realized they had put the hottest sauce possible on his wings and he could not eat them.

Shores later posted that Zaxby's had apologized.

Restaurant owner Neal Glezen told The Star of Shelby he's trying to figure out what happened.

I'm still trying to understand the issue you have here. The cops get taunted and the workers f'd with their food but they are in the wrong somehow?
