I've been seeing a lot of pundits claiming hate rhetoric is at fault. That's not true because nothing has changed in that regard in over a decade.

It's the 'kind of rhetoric' which triggered the recent shooter. The left and media with their irresponsible theorizing about Trump being a puppet of the Kremlin; over the top hyperbole about republicans out to kill millions of Americans with the repeal of Obamacare and etc.

It's been that sort of thing. If you really believe Trump is Hitler, for example, it changes the moral calculus in dangerous ways. And there's a lot of people on the left who believe those sorts of things about Trump and/or his supporters.

I've seen it on FB,i've seen it on Twitter. It's beyond rational disagreements, or simple partisan loathings
