Look at any 50 year period and you will see great progress, allowing women to vote, emancipating the slaves, Standard of living jumps.

Fifty years ago, the idea of a woman in leadership was very rare.

Sandra Day O'Connor was put on the Supreme Court by Ronald Regan. Geraldine Ferrero was on a major party ticket for vice-president. Vietnam ended and the draft is never to be brought back.

Its okay now to be gay, mostly.

So, where are we going to progress to now? People with disabilities will get more opportunities, standard of living continues to improve, the rest of the world progresses...

Any guesses at where we go from here?
 
Less hunger? Better education? What do you want, we can get it. It will just take some time... what should we be working for?

America should be great because it rests on perhaps the greatest tract of real estate on the planet,
beautiful and bountiful with resources.

That notwithstanding, no nation can be great with a population that elects Pigdhit Trump to its highest office.
Far too great a percentage of our population is intellectually and morally inadequate, very far from great.

Pigshit will die soon enough, but a big percentage of the 77 million irredeemable trumpanzees
are still going to be around for quite a while.

I see no point in discussing future plans that don't address doing something very extreme about our people problem..

I would be interested to know how anybody on this forum thinks we can find a way to be great
with the number of malignant cretins that have infected our population.

I've asked the question many times and can blame no one that I've never been given an answer.
We may not have enough intelligent people among us to come up with one.
There may not even be an answer.


My prediction is that no part of America will EVER be great as long as we remain "united"
in our present configuration.

Disgusting, filthy, stupid, and malignat people can never be great--I've just described 77 million trumpanzees--
but they can somehow prevent their superiors from experiencing greatness
as we're seeing RIGHT NOW.

Agreed. I used to love my country but then they scrapped all "soft power" initiatives like feeding people and helping ease suffering when they closed down USAID.

I hate the fact that so many Americans wanted to throw away the best parts of this nation so they could keep ahold of the worst.

I did vote for the President... Great things are happening With food insecurity and our schools... The changes are going to be wonderful and I almost wish I wasn't retired..... But I would never double dip so I'll just volunteer... (If we're going to talk about dogs and presidents...well...Dogs really don't like Joe... That should have told us all we needed to know about him...;))
