This 1 Quote Explains America's Biggest Problem Perfectly

your lying again.

YOUR the conservative who hates change.

I am willing to change things all the time when they make sense.

You don't want the house to do anything remember

Nice avoidance and non answer. Tell us what you would like to see done to change the status quo of crony capitalism.

well I would like to see free airtime for any qualifying candidate.

I would like to see money taken out of the elections system.

So if we elected more Democrats we wouldn't have a 70k page plus tax code like we currently have today?

fuck its like saying that you have too many cells in your body.

You have as many cells as you need to function idiot.

same as the pages of the law

Desh, your cussing and name calling aside, you clearly don't understand what crony capitalism is and how it is reflected in the tax code. You say the length of the tax code is fine while you complain that corporations get too many breaks. There is a disconnect here.

no fool your stupid assed crap about how many pages laws are is just that stupid lines created for stupid people.

How long the laws are mean nofuckingthing.

what the laws contain is what matters.

do you have too many cells in your brain?

Once again you clearly don't understand how our current tax code is tied to crony capitalism. You complain about the status quo but don't want it changed.

How can that be? Is anyone forcing you to buy things? There is a prebate to account for lower income individuals buying neccessities.

How can it be regressive? Because we ALL need to buy the necessities. Those necessities make up a greater portion (typically 100%) of the income of lower and lower-middle income families. Which means they would be getting taxed on a higher percentage of their income. On the other hand, the wealthier who invest rather than buy would not be getting taxed. The wealth gap would skyrocket under this scenario and the wealthier would be paying a lower effective tax rate.

Not really, you have much LESS intrusion in that it applies specifically to goods and services which is already used in most States successfully and with low admin costs, there are no subsidies other than the annual prebate and there are no forms to be filled out by individuals.

Nonsense. A flat tax with standard deduction can be easily automated. We already do it for payrolls. Adjusting to do it for investments would be the only alteration needed and there would be less need for intrusion from the government. As for your prebate... how do you determine WHO qualifies? If you have a 'fair tax' you are replacing the income tax. So how would you propose they track who qualifies for prebates? Or are you suggesting everyone gets one? Do people who don't work get a prebate? Do you get one per family member?

Yes, sales taxes currently exist... but there are no prebates in any state that I am aware of... and those current sales taxes states charge are REGRESSIVE.

Yes, but not as simple as a Fair Tax. ;)

Again, you are incorrect.
It is, in itself, a bad idea. There is no need to “pay down the debt.” The debt will disappear with economic growth and controlled spending. There is no need to “spend it down” with additional taxes.

Again, we do not have a “revenue” problem; it is a “spending” problem.

But that stated, I am WITH you not AGAINST you; anything is better than what we have now. I just believe the Fair Tax is the best alternative and will create such an economic boom that we have not seen since the gold rush days.

1) You are not 'spending down' the debt. You are paying it off with higher revenues.

2) Debt doesn't just disappear due to economic growth, but you are correct that it is the spending problem in DC that is killing us.
