Here's my made controversy.

ANWAR Opened for drilling. Liberals howl, Conservatives dance in glee!

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats just my suggestion for the contest. You're supposed to create a controversy of your own. Then we can vote over what controversy we want to argue about.

Newsflash Feb 2012. New president Jeb Bush along with Vice president Sarah Palin says that the Obama recession will be with us for a while longer. Proposes tax cuts.

Here is my point on drilling our own oil reserves....

As long as we are using oil, we have to get it from somewhere. So the benefits to using our own oil vs. buying from Canada or Mexico are:

1) The money stays within our economy rather than going to a foreign country

2) If we increase supply expectations, it can help offset continued increases in demand worldwide and thus help to try and keep oil prices lower

3) If it is drilled in the US (or offshore) then WE control the environmental regulations on the rigs/sites.

So, for the environmentalists in the US... do you want the US to control the environmental regs or would you prefer to leave it up to a foreign country, over which you have NO control or representation?

No, no, no! Were not arguing about drilling yet. First you have to make up your own controversy. Then we vote on what we want to argue about. So far I like STY controversy about unregulated garage sales. Lot's of potential there. Existing controversies don't count. Only made up ones do.
