The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday announced the arrest of what it called the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal immigrants during Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota, including a man with 24 criminal convictions.

The agency blasted state and local leaders for refusing to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

DHS said the arrests show the results of ICE enforcement operations in sanctuary jurisdictions, contrasting the agency’s actions with what it described as the refusal of Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey to honor ICE detainers.

That policy, DHS claims, has resulted in hundreds of criminal illegal aliens being released back into local Minnesota communities.

Illegal Honduran migrant wanted for allegedly assaulting ICE agents— and feds offer $15K reward​

An illegal migrant from Honduras is wanted by federal authorities for allegedly ramming his car into Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicles in Dallas last month, injuring multiple agents, according to federal prosecutors.

Jerson Lopez-Sanchez, 28, allegedly floored the gas in reverse trying to escape when his Chevy Silverado was surrounded by three ICE vehicles during a traffic stop on Dec. 1, according to a grand jury indictment filed in the Eastern District of Texas this week.

He smashed into the law enforcement Jeep behind him while an ICE agent had one leg outside the vehicle, injuring the agent and making enough space for him to drive around the other law enforcement vehicles and attempt to flee, prosecutors allege.
