I wrote this on FB regarding an article bout the urban/rural divide of the electorate.
it's an FYI-i thought you might enjoy.

there is much that divides us. I like to think of the Tao symbol ; the yin and yang. The yin cannot exist without yang, and vice versa -and the 2 UNITED make the Whole.

. So when the yin and yang are in balance ( Chinese would say in 'harmony') the Whole is vibrant/expansive and maximizing it;s potential
..we also express this in the USA by the term E Pluribus Unum literally " out of many- one" So when we are united as a people we have the same attribute as a hamonious yin/yang..
we still exist when we are not in harmony ( and brother i've never seen us so much NOT in harmony in my 50+ years of following politics) but we are not in balance, and not reaching our potential expanse.
Some inbalance in nature is expected, but not this hard fracture the article exposes. It weakens us a United States when we are in disunion.

Bit like the Nazis and the Jews under Hitler, eh? Trump is a fat, spoilt idiot, and the people who vote for him are half-witted mugs who would love to murder all the rest. You only have read any American site to know you have a choice between fascist dictatorship and civil war.

Nazis blah blah blah...mommy blah blah blah. Got anything else? What happened to you dude? You didn't used to be this cartoonish.

I don't recall your being as pissed. What is this about Mommy then? Go beat your hollow chest and pretend you are grown up, do!

You don't remember what you post? Not even from yesterday? It's the sheep syphilis, isn't it? It finally got into your brain. You used to call people out for doing the stupid shit you now do as a matter of routine.

Right, Nazi - I was bored with you anyway, but I always say farewell to racists who quack that tedious shit before bumming in the closet. Byebye.

Wait till people start winning lol.

I read yesterday where Goldman Sachs is predicting another domestic oil boom due to Trump's tax reforms. Lefties can take to the streets all they want to, but when the economy starts clicking the working class is going to be happy. And happy voters are motivated voters.

Basically, what we are seeing is the result of a true change election. This is the Carter to Reagan switch on steroids. And change can be messy since it challenges the status quo. And lots of people, ideologues and institutions are threatened by Trump. Or threatened by his movement, more specifically.

Currently, the left is driven by emotion. Which is good only insofar as they are energized, for now. Their problem is they lack a set of core principles to rally around. They also lack leadership. There's little in the way of focus on policy prescriptions so I question whether they can sustain themselves just on emotion when the next meaningful election is a full two years off.

The Tea Party had a set of principles to act on that practically all their supporters could recite off the tops of their heads: smaller, less intrusive government; lower taxes and a focus on the economy and jobs.

Whereas, the left is basically just enraged. Practically all their counter arguments are emotional. For example, Trump's Muslim ban that's a Muslim ban except when it's not a Muslim ban lol. He's not only fulfilling a campaign promise but he's well within his power, as POTUS, to restrict immigration. It's also has good poll support.

It's going to come down to whether Trump can produce results. If he does, it's bad news for the lefties. They could easily be put of power for a decade. I think they are aware of this, so Trump must be taken down and his movement destroyed, no matter what the cost.

Goldman Sachs?

You mean the company that's running Trump's cabinet?

Obama is the great divider.

Trump made a big deal about that when Obama was elected, and throughout the campaign.

I haven't even seen a gesture on his part - outside of a few words on election eve - to try to bring anyone together, or unify the country. In fact, he seems to relish & celebrate the divisions he is creating.

Obama relished dividing and destroying America.

Obama is the great divider.
we are our own great dividers. we suck up crap like that, and then we rally around Trump's screw up on his XO
( c'mon -no green cards, and nobody already cleared from the 7 countries?).

we make/demand it us vs. them past any semblance of the 'loyal opposition' or Spicer's "screw it" shove it down their throat.

I realize you can point to this or that as a divider, but it's now in our political genes, and it hurts the body politic
