The Turtle strikes!

That’s slick.

Force democrats to back a bill that would fund a commission to study voting fraud and repeal section 230 so Twitter and Co can no longer restrict free speech AND increase COVID relief to $2000/person.

NO, it isn't.

Why is Moscow McTurtle tying all three provisions into one bill?

So.............it won't pass.

Private companies, that teabaggers applaud and give tax break to, have the right to publish or not publish what they choose.

Another commission on voter fraud?

January 3 2018

President Trump on Wednesday dissolved a controversial commission that was set up to investigate his unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2016 presidential election.

Moscow McTurtle objected to a $2000 payment on a stand alone amendment.

As usual teabaggers TRYING to be slick.

I have yet to hear you criticize money from the previous bill going to transgender studies in Pakistan (not to mention a shitload of other non-China virus related pork). Maybe Pakistani transgenders is an interest of yours?

Easy, homo.

Two separate bills.

One is the omnibus $1.4 trillion spending bill, the bill that keeps the government running.

Then there is $900 billion corona virus bill, moron.

Don't know if Pakistan has banned Americans yet but piac.com.pk is taking reservations.

You have a keen interest in tranny's, have a safe fight and wear you masks, princess.

Even dumbass trump stooges should know just this year about 5 different states checked and rechecked for voter fraud and found none...and you want to waste more taxpayer money chasing that conspiracy theory? especially after 2016 when dipshit pig Trump installed a voter fraud inspector who spent a bunch of dough and many months "investigating" voter fraud, and then filed no report and disappeared into the night....

why do you think Section 230 lets social media platforms censor anyone? do you think you should be able to use twitter to post naked pictures of kids? or pictures of people being executed or tortured? or call for the assassination of anybody? since twitter and facebook put up the dough and did what they had to do set up these popular media sites, why should they not be able to decide what they want to allow anybody to post and what not to post? BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT SECTION 230 IS ALL ABOUT, DUMBASS.

have someone you trust read this and then take a few weeks trying to 'splain it to ya. It protects these social media platforms from being held liable for WHAT USERS OF THEIR WEBSITE SAY OR SHOW ON THEIR WEBSITE...why is that not fair? if you go on Twitter and claim Bill Gates has sex with goats, should he be able to sue Twitter for allowing you to say that? What you are calling for is MORE CENSORSHIP, AND MORE RESTRICTIONS.

Section 230 says that "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider" (47 U.S.C. § 230). In other words, online intermediaries that host or republish speech are protected against a range of laws that might otherwise be used to hold them legally responsible for what others say and do. The protected intermediaries include not only regular Internet Service Providers (ISPs), but also a range of "interactive computer service providers," including basically any online service that publishes third-party content. Though there are important exceptions for certain criminal and intellectual property-based claims, CDA 230 creates a broad protection that has allowed innovation and free speech online to flourish.

Interesting how you associate my ridicule of said portion of the bill as a "keen interest in tranny's." I say it's bullshit, as I do everything non-China virus related in a stimulus bill.

Oh, I'm not a homo, a princess (a contradiction?) or a moron, and I'm staying put right here in my legally owned small part of the U.S. Don't be silly.

The point is, there is no foreign aid in the covid bill. NONE. there is no funding for the Arts. NONE. so what are you bitching about?

Interesting, how teabaggers STILL, even when it is explained to them, think two bills are one, just because they are voting for two bills at the same time doesn't intertwine them.

They are separate bills and the stimulus bill has how many mentions of China?

You've read the over 5000 pages it consists of? A separate bill (affecting ONLY the American people) would have flown right through months ago. I blame both sides for packing it full of shit.

No they don't and they don't care about them either. They care about themselves and their precious hate.

that is not what happened. the omnibus spending bill happens every year recently since congress can never enact a full year budget on time. it just so happened the omnibus spending bill was about to end at the same time we needed to pass a covid bill, not only for stimulus and unemployment benefits, but for overall funding to get the vaccine off the shelves and into people's arms. have you not read the news? if the voice vote in the House had passed, with no objections, then just the Covid Bill would have had the change from $600 to $2000, if it then passed the same way in the Senate. and even another bill the house just passed would have changed only that sum, but mcconnell rejected it.

Section 230allows them unfettered authority and blanket immunity for liability both at the same time
It's fascism..no wonder Dems are for it

America doesn't want those things.

What Mitch wants is not popular.

What the Democrats want is very popular.

Mitch's 'slick' move is DOA.

But he has signaled he is willing to accept what Democrats want.

So he should simply do it without attaching strings.

The American people in dire need should not be batted about like a loose football.

Pelosi played ball with them all summer.

There’s nothing in the bill that democrats should fear. If it was the cleanest election anywhere inside of the asteroid belt why do they care if the bill mandates it be investigated?

Section 230 is clearly being abused by Big Tech. They practice outright censorship to the extent the ChiComs are envious. Big Tech owns the proverbial blackboard. According to Section 230 they aren’t liable for what anyone writes on the board. As well it should be.

But when they start censoring political speech they disagree with or *literally* protecting presidential candidates then they should give up their Section 230 privileges.

THAT alone, should be voted on by congress irrespective of anything else. But this is a good, clean, bill that helps people out and gets two other things done. Neither of which, House Democrats should have a problem with.

We all want to help struggling taxpayers, right?
