Recently has comments supporting a golf tour from the country where the 9/11 terrorists came from and saying we still haven't "figured out what happened," and calling for the death penalty for drug dealers. On that last one, he praised a dictator who murdered over 12,000 drug dealers in his own country, saying that this policy really kept the drug problem under control. His comments were essentially that it sounds rough, but it works.

This isn't American exceptionalism. This is the worst of not just America, but humanity. I half expect him at times to start snorting like a pig - just pure ego, pure narcissism.

The majority of Americans think trump is disgusting. his only hope to getting elected is to:
1) Win the Republican nomination, with the 20% of the general voters who make up a majority of the Republican Party.
2) Convince the general election voters that the Democrat is worse than him.

The vast majority of Americans do not want trump. Which becomes important when we see trump asserting his dominance over the Republican Party before the midterm elections. This will hurt the Republicans, badly.
