Recent elections in Venezuela saw Nicolás Maduro’s leftist ruling party win 20 out of 23 governorships. The US predictably cries foul, but I witnessed voting that was perfectly free and fair.
Western media and the United States government had already made up their mind on the recent “mega-elections” in Venezuela before the polls had even opened: the ‘dictator’ Nicolás Maduro would win by using fraud.

Why not just leave them alone and let them sell their oil to whoever they like ?

It's amusing to me that most of the Reichwingers in the U.S. who constantly freak out over "socialism" weren't even alive when the (R)s were beating the war drums over communism in the 1940s and 1950s. The way they use the word indicates that they really don't even understand it. Their RW media feeds them the fear and they suck it up with a straw.

The only reason they care about Venezuelan elections is because if they can believe that their voting processes are corrupt, then obviously OURS is too, if our votes were counted by that voting machine company based in that country. :rolleyes:

They blame Biden for the global inflation taking place currently, and demand that he "fix it." How can he do that? He *could* institute wage and price controls, which has been done in the past. But can you just *imagine* the screaming about that if he did? They don't want socialism/fascism, until they do.

I haven't kept track of Venezuelan elections, lately, but Hugo Chavez was a personal hero of mine.

He outlawed the practice of parents giving their children the Latino equivalent of ebonic names.
I thought this was pure genius.

If we had Mr. Chavez, we wouldn't have kids with names like "Trayvon" being gunned down.
Nobody gives a fuck about Trayvon getting shot. If George gets killed, than people get pissed.

America very seriously needs our own Hugo Chavez. We're long overdue.

In a rigged election where 41.8% of the voting population turned out and voted... Yea, sure... People voted by not voting. Idiots like Moon keep trying to tell us that Trump wasn't elected because he lost the popular vote in 2016, yet somehow Maduro was elected fairly on far less than 50% of the vote in Venezuela...

I find it odd how Americans love Saudi ARAMCO, the State Owned Enterprise that helps provide Free Health Care to Saudi Citizens, and how Americans complain about other countries when they do the same thing.

You know, the country that *also* provides its citizens with free national health care PLUS pays for abortions "on demand" (as they call it over here) -- a lot of which WE are paying for with our billions and billions of aid to that country?
