I watched it last night.....I have to be honest.....I thought the opening ceremony sucked ass........

Parts of it certainly did and I was expecting to be disappointed...however apart from the interminable pop music I thought it partrayed us well. Wonderful history, the poor and downtrodden working to build the greatest nation the world had ever seen, Isambard Kindom Brunel with his cigar, the wonderful portrayal of the National Health service, (that was for America) and of course the virtuoso performance of Mr. Bean. BUT where was Shakespeare, Dickens, where was the stirring music of Vaughan Williams, Haydn and where was the West End? West End Musicals earn huge amounts of foreign revenue. I guess you cant have everything but... the Arctic Monkeys??? Gimme a break!
