The Pause lengthens again – just in time for Paris

As the faithful gather around their capering shamans in Paris for the New Superstition’s annual festival of worship, the Pause lengthens yet again. One-third of Man’s entire influence on climate since the Industrial Revolution has occurred since February 1997. Yet the 225 months since then show no global warming at all (Fig. 1). With this month’s RSS temperature record, the Pause beats last month’s record and now stands at 18 years 9 months.

That is a pretty tired canard even for you. Why don't you surprise me and tell me why that graph is wrong in your estimation? I will not accept anything from Skeptical Science. DeSmogBlog, Media Matters, the Guardian or Daily Kos. Whilst you are about it, can you explain why a graph of the temperature data from satellites constantly monitoring the Earth 24/7 shouldn't be taken seriously? I will understand if you can't.

Even Nature recognises the reality of the Pause, are they being paid off by Big Oil as well?

I love seeing left wingers being scared of one degree increase in temperature.

Their entire argument is built on lies which is why they are so defensive about it.

Think about this logically using their own argument.

Their argument is that the temperature has increased in such a short period of time meaning it has gone up 2 whole degrees in 100 years.

So if a swing of two degrees in 100 years is supposed to cause such catastrophe then why doesn't it happen on a grander scale when the temperature goes from minus 10 to 80 degrees in a six month period.

It is a much larger swing in a much shorter time frame and there is no calamity. We are just fine

Carbon dioxide itself absorbs infra-red at a consistent rate. For each doubling of CO₂ levels you get roughly 1.2°K of warming. A rise in concentrations from pre-industrial levels of 280 parts per million (ppm) to 560ppm would thus warm the Earth by 1.2°K. Thanks to satellites and modern instrumentation climate scientists such as Scott Denning have access to much more accurate data than was available in 1896 when the infamous Arrhenius equation, the theoretical basis for CAGW theory, was formulated.
