Nominee or not, I think there's a percentage of die-hard Trump cult members that won't vote for DeathSantis if they're told not to. He's essentially splitting the party like a complete dumbass and I love him for it lol.

I think you're underestimating their stupidity. I worked the last 2 elections here, and at the end of the day you get a printout of the tallies, at the bottom it shows the write-in votes. Each time there were multiple write ins for Trump. These were the mid-terms and before that, the TN mid-term primary. And that was just MY machine.
First, while I have no doubt that's what you saw, it's also local to your county or state.
Second, Tennessee is a Red State...and it was a Midterm. While it's possible that Trump will split the Republican vote in 2024 enough to ensure a Democrat win, I wouldn't bet on it.
