The GOP and Poverty

Here is an interesting map. It's amazing how this map when over laid with a map of States that vote mostly Democrat or Republican shows that most of the Republican red States also have the highest poverty levels.

I think this is pretty good evidence of how Republicans have used identity politics to obtain constituents who vote for party which does not represent their best interest.

How do you know those pockets of poverty within each state vote Republican?

this has nothing to do with the gop, rather, to do with whether someone is in poverty or not....if they want to vote gop, that is their choice

what is interesting is that it is mostly the south that is poor...that, unfortunately, should not surprise anyone...in the north many rural states that are red states have little poverty....this is more about geopolitics than any one party
