I'm in Ft. Lauderdale freezing my tookus off.(Well, actually its only 53 degrees, but when you've lived in the tropics or the desert for almost 40 years, 53 degrees is downright arctic)

It was 15 degrees in southern Mississippi today. Of course, it did not stop my daily hour long walk. Got to see the nearby river shedding it's latent heat in the form of a mist at sunrise, as well as the frozen remnants of a dead lake that had been flooded during the heavy rain we've been recieving a few days back. However, I was not feeling quite manly enough to ride in it.

I do realize that you probably emerged from your mothers womb into air that was below 0, but 15 degrees is indeed something in Mississippi.

It was, with windchill, -38 here (actually colder since I live about 300 yards from the lake). That's not far off from a Siberian winter (albeit a mild one).

Well, if I go riding today, I can emulate 0 degree weather with my artificial windchill.

I've only had experience with below 0 weather when I marched in the inaugral parade in DC once. Got hit with a winter storm while we were there. Most snow I've ever seen in my life, and I soon realized that I hate the stuff and never wanted to see it again.

Snows not so bad, it's the ice and wind.

I had to sleep with the window open in the guest room last night because my wife insisted on having the heat on.
 
I have not been using the heater.

hell Ive been kinda bummed that I cant have a fire because its too warm
 
Pittsburgh was virtually shut down yesterday because of the weather! I think it was -9 at the low point and only +2 later.

It's heating up to the 20s today so back to the rat race.
 
Those anti-warming scientists were right all along!!! The planet is not warming! We are going into an ice age!!! lol

Getting serious.....We had the worst ice storm in decades. The city was covered in ice. Trees falling down blocking roads, crushing cars, houses, from the weight of the ice. Snapping power lines. People without power for Christmas. People died... And this is the most snow we have seen in decades. I remember as a child being buried in snow in November, but the last few decades, we wouldn't get any snow fall until late January and maybe one snow storm a year. This year we have had just as much snow as the last 10 years put together and it's only January.

Many people credit these massive cold fronts too rapidly melting arctic caps.......
