The fantasy of a ‘deradicalized’ Gaza

We fight, We win, Am Yisrael Chai
For more than a century, Palestinian society in Gaza has been taught that its national purpose is not to build a homeland for itself but to destroy the Jewish one: Israel. This is not a fringe belief. It is the cultural consensus. The idea is not debated in Gaza; it is the unifying principle of all politics, culture and religion. Every Palestinian classroom, mosque, media outlet and public institution reinforces the same message: Israel must disappear, and killing Jews is the means to that end.

This ideology did not begin with Hamas. The terrorist group merely weaponized what Palestinian culture had already been preaching for generations. From the Palestinian Authority to schools run by the U.N. Relief Works for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), children have been raised to see “liberation” as synonymous with annihilation. The Palestinians’ very identity, the essence of their “national aspiration,” is built around that genocidal goal.

To claim that Gaza can become “deradicalized” without a complete cultural revolution is to mistake a slogan for a strategy.

The Palestinian peoples are not a natural enemy of the Jewish people and in fact the Jewish people are considering a founding people of Palestine (Canaanites) which means whenever someone says 'that land was Palestinian land' that the Jews and todays Palestinians BOTH have claims to it.

It is the Arabs' who are not a founding people in those lands who spend untold Billions, to get various Palestinian leadership (gov't, mosque, etc) to fight and hate the Jewish State and people and that is because the Arabs did not want EITHER a Jewish State or a Palestinian State friendly and on their borders as they could then start land claims in the Arab countries which were comprised of a lot of Palestinian land.

And the Arab States laid out this plan very publicly in the Khartoum Summit, after losing the 6 Days War in the "3 No's".

- No peace with Israel
- no recognition of Israel
- no negotiations with Israel

The summit also resolved that the "oil-rich Arab states" give financial aid to the states who lost the war and to "help them rebuild their military forces." The final communique of the meeting "underscored the Palestinians' right to regain the whole of Palestine—that is, to destroy the State of Israel."

----------------------------

That final bolded sentence is key. There was not any form of organized Palestinian movement at the time but the Arabs knew they had a desire for a homeland, after seeing Israel created for the Jews.

The Arabs made no statement in support of Palestinian State but only to weaponize their desire for one by telling them they should have the Jewish state and the jews should be driven out.

It was 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend' ploy, to make they destroy and destabilize each other. And hundreds of billions have gone in to it. Yasir Arafat, at his death was found with 1B dollars in his bank account after rejecting the Bill Clinton peace deal that would have seen a Palestinian State created. It shocked the world that he refused that deal at the last moment.
