Arabs on social media are showering US President Donald Trump with thanks and praise after he ordered the first direct US military action against Syrian government forces.

The US conducted the strikes on a Syrian air base in the early hours of Friday following a suspected chemical attack on a rebel-held town.

Shortly after, some Arab social media users started referring to the president as Abu Ivanka - Father of Ivanka, as a sign of respect and endearment.

One user gave Trump an Arab makeover, with a meme of him wearing a traditional tarboosh hat (similar to a fez), with the words: "We love you."

He was also described as a "man of his words", with one user telling him: "You did in a few months what Obama couldn't do in 8 years."

Someone needs to calm Nikki Haley down but I'm not seeing talk of regime change coming from anywhere else.

Trump needs to know he risks a rebellion if he goes further. He scored a win on several fronts with the strike so he should leave it at that.

I went back and read Haley, verbatim. She was hinting around at regime change but then basically contradicted herself by saying ISIS was the main priority.

In other words, she was all over the lot. I'm inclined to not put a lot of stock in it.

This was from 2 days ago. Before Assad thumbed his nose at the impotent clown, and bombed the same town again. Any updates?

That was for show since Trump took out Assad's and Putin's air base. The same thing for using the runways. For Assad/Putin to do nothing in response would be seen as a sign of weakness.

We don't want to get into a tit for tat with them because that means escalation. Trump made his point about chemical weapons and sent a message to NK, so we/he should leave it at that.

Any updates on the Trump/Putin bromance lol?

I agree. It might at least show to any third world countries that there's a difference between a Prez who speaks warnings and threats and then cowers when tested and a Prez who will follow through on his words. I'm certainly not advocating any escalation on our part. But, appearance of command speaks volumes and receives respect.

Trump didn't take out any air base, nor did he take out any chemical weapons storage facility. Meanwhile, the House will move forward with it's investigation of trump, now that Nunes was forced out of the way. We'll end up with an independent counsel to decide who goes to jail.

So you're saying that trump orchestrated this $60 million dollar charade in an attempt to take focus away from his treasonous cabinet?

Thanks for the morning laugh. Korea knows that trump can't get it up. They aren't afraid of the sitting ducks we're sending to the region. In fact, they're probably happy about it.

Think about what you just said.

Putin helps Trump win the WH. Then Trump turns around and fires Tomahawks at Putin's assets in Syria. Putin must be rethinking some things lol.

Only the die hard anti-Trump left doesn't see the problem with that. Either that, they'll conjure a supporting theory to prop-up the Russian theory.

They have officially jumped the shark.

We lost a lot of respect the last 8 years---a fair amount of it had to do with Obama not following through on the Red Line.

I think the timing of the strike had a lot to do with NK and probably the upcoming meeting with Putin. Trump is consistently underestimated by his domestic detractors. Ironically, I doubt that's the case on the world stage.

They have no sense of direction, proportion or priorities Darth.

It's like a man's house is burning to the ground from a kitchen fire from faulty wiring installed by the last owner. While the fire department is straining to put out the fire, all his neighbors and the local media are surrounding the poor guy demanding to know if he was cooking his eggs sunny side up or over easy.

Well, the world is on fire right now and the guy in the kitchen didn't start it.
 
Speaking of NK, does roly-poly Kim have any true allies? Any true partners in crime in the world backing or encouraging his Twilight Zone mentality and plans? All I see in the news are his antics alone. I admit I'm not well-studied on him.
