Do you believe that? There is a serious contradiction between, layoffs that really aren't when job stats come out, and those reported in the news. However, as bad and cruel as it is, dampening the economy is the only tool the government has to fight inflation. You must have paid attention on occasion to what Yellen said, haven't you? The fact is profits have soared, but nobody dares to fight that. It is also inflationary.
